BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD & CHROME: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1246
Music by Bear McCreary
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

La-La Land Records and NBC Universal proudly present the original soundtrack to the SyFy Channel special event BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD & CHROME, composed by Bear McCreary (THE WALKING DEAD, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, EUREKA, TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES).

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (a prequel to the critically acclaimed hit series, Battlestar Galactica) takes place in the midst of the First Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton). With only 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordan) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

Acclaimed composer McCreary returns to the BSG universe with his amazing musical arsenal, launching a breathtaking score that recalls his famed GALACTICA sound while energizing it in exciting new sonic directions. Produced by Bear McCreary and Ford A. Thaxton, and mastered by Patricia Sullivan, this special release is limited to 3000 units. CD Booklet contains exclusive comments from the composer.

The clips show the dreadful hiss behind the whistler sections of the Bandolero Main Title is still there.
Very disappointing. I've been hoping for an improved version since the last one came out and expected any new release to fix it. You'd think with today's technology some particularly intrusive hiss could be removed. Instead, we get the option of an alternative with not only the hiss removed, but the whistler too. I suppose I should be grateful they made a clip of the Main Title available, so I know in advance this is the same as the one I already have.

Very pleased to see the Walker release though.

Not much activity on this announcement this week!

How much improved is the sound on Bandolero? I see that hiss on the whistling is still present, but is it worth an upgrade of the Intrada expanded version (which cost me a fair bit)

Surely, if they could have fixed it, they would have. As I understand it, even with today's technology, you can't take out the frequency with the hiss on it without removing that same frequency from the music itself.

If you're a good whistler, you can add your own hiss-free whistling to the bonus track.

For what it's worth, the hiss doesn't bother me. The music's great.

The Challenge is ordered. I must hear this much talked about music. As an aside, does anyone know if this film is available on Blu-ray or DVD? I have never seen it.

Excellent idea! Perhaps the bonus track should have been labeled as "Main Title – Karaoke Version".
I might try a humming performance to see if it sounds more dramatic.

The Challenge is unreleased on DVD and Blu-ray. It was released only on VHS and is long out of print. I'm hoping Shout Factory might issue it some time in the future.
