It's part of the underlining melody for at least 20 seconds (unless I missed it elsewhere); it would be very odd and out of place to play the cue and it not be there.
Don't know only listened thru Track 2. I was pissed so went no further.
Have you checked the notes? There might be an explanation.
I did Mr Bond states " Hideo's gunman cut off Toshio's van in an alley (at 2:38) with piano and steel mixing bowls joining in over strings and brass........................"
I haven't listened to this in a while but I only remember the mixing bowls being in the cues The Wrong Sword and The Fish Market. Seriously, this is a bit disturbing since its one of those brilliantly giddy moments only Goldsmith was capable of.

I agree. I have the old release, so it was touch and go whether I needed to go for the latest one, but I decided to order it. But tonight's news is making me wonder if I should cancel it :-(

I assure you will not like the LaLa, but go ahead if you want something half baked
I need to know fairly quickly whether to cancel my order or if they'll be sending out corrected replacements to all customers anyway (in which case I can just wait).
I'm kinda surprised they've not jumped on her quicker.
Just would like to add that our heroes at La-La Land, Intrada, FSM, Kritzerland, Quartet, ... are still human beings and therefore errors can happen and (unfortunately) will happen.
That said I think it would help a lot if the discussion would not be led in such an aggressive tone. Also please keep in mind that "our" small labels just don't have have the financial resources like the big ones.
So a complete recall of a flawed pressing, might be a bit much for them to stem and in the worst case could end with the label closing it's doors forever. Just checkout MV's posting about how a slight oversight concerning the licensing costs of "Battlestar Galactica - Season 4" in his own words "nearly crippled the company"! IMHO it was FSM that found a rather good solution to this kind of problem by offering the correct version on one of their later CDs. Of course this meant to buy spent more money but 1) it usually was a CD I'd have bought anyway and 2) I rather have it this way then the label not being abel to produce anymore soundtrack gems.

It is very early in morning in CA, they will respond. I was going to purchase if sound was better than Prometheus. I am not one to buy same score twice, but this is very good score. I hope they explain and make right if this is the case or I will just stay with the Prometheus.
Simply put: The Prometheus one used the WRONG TAKE. The La-La Land one used the correct takes - Takes 5 and 7. Why the Prometheus one is incorrect is anyone's guess (most likely it was the Prometheus album's producer, Ford A Thaxton's preference) . This is something we discovered when working on the album late in the game and forgot to have Jeff revise his notes. We didn't include the Prometheus one on this release because I simply didn't think it was that big of a deal.
