If I remember my impression upon seeing the Director's Cut DVD after having heard the CD about a gajillion times, everything in the movie (except the material from other places) is on the CD.
Comparring it against something else which can't be named, including un-used score and alternates, somewhere between 12 and 15 minutes missing. Of course, we can't know for sure just how much because you never know what may be found once the tapes are gone through more thoroughly.
The missing music between The Fearies and The Riddle is in the movie, and not on the expanded cd.sorry i said both. as said in the post above there is still a lot of music missing in the expanded cd releases. i hope they find the master tapes, and release the complete score.

I have a tape of the music from Legend sessions. I will have to go back to it to find out which music you are talking - I can remember that there are lot of different takes of particular cues. I will let you know.
This is almost as bad as the numerous E.T. threads.
But the original poster of this thread is correct. There is still missing score music from this score not on CD. Silva Screen owns this title in perpetuity. Maybe they will re-issue.
I bought in 1993 the already amazing Silva Screen expanded edition but as every note from LEGEND is a must-have for me, I would be delight to see any better release.
Please Mr James Fitzpatrick, please Mr Reynold da Silva, consider to reissue the "definitive" edition of this masterpiece: Jerry Goldsmith's score from LEGEND!
I'm a pretty rabid Goldsmith fan and absolutely love this score, but the current Silva CD is fine with me. Not to say more music wouldn't be welcomed...but the current presentation, for me, is perfect. It improves on the Up Art CD, which for me was a poorly put together affair, but at the current length it plays perfectly
The Up Art LP was the first encounter with Legend i did,t even saw the movie,so Up Art cd is not an affair, the Silva Sreen cd was surely a great expanded release. i just say there is more great music of LEGEND
Thanks for pointing me to those details. I hadn't seen them before. It sounds like there's not only some unreleased music in the film, but also alternate versions and perhaps some music recorded but not used in the film. I'd definitely buy a definitive two-disc set with everything for the magnificent score!
Not sure if Silva retains the rights to this in perpetuity (I'm also curious about Rambo II and Supergirl). I guess the person to ask might be James Fitzpatrick...
