We have the date for Fans of Film Music 4, October 20th 2013!

We are very excited to let all the fans know that we will be celebrating Varese Sarabande Records 35th Anniversary at FFM4.

Varese is celebrating their 35th Ann. with a year of glorious concerts with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, GSPO. As always we'll have our Friday night meet and greet on October 18th and the following day we'll all be going to the GSPO's Annual Halloween themed concert which Varese Sarabande will be a part of as they continue their year long celebration.

Sunday October 20th will be the day when we get the chance to meet some truly extraordinary composers who've graced the covers of Varese Sarabande's label.

Many have not yet seen or heard the brilliant GSPO and this will be a great time for many to hear them for the first time and be amazed at their playing! More details will come in the months ahead, but I wanted to make sure you all knew this date so the many travelers who fly in can start planning and saving for this exciting trip! We are honored to be able to help celebrate Varese Sarabande's 35th Ann. with them and their devoted fan base! The GSPO is located in San Pedro which is a short drive from LA.

It takes a man with a lot of passion and vision and determination and intestinal fortitude to turn these events from an idea into a reality. A charming and humble personality doesn't hurt, either.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to post that in the Woodstock '69 thread.

I hope to come again next year with Rom and hopefully take advantage of more of the fun stuff and stay for longer. It was a lot of fun last year. Of course, that depends on who you get for the composers.

I was so close to a compliment from Josh, LOL LOL. It takes someone crazy who likes punishment to keep this going, lol..

We try each year to get a great group of people, but with active working composers, you are working against their schedules and let's face it TV and MOVIE deadlines are insane. We're fortunate we've gotten the calibre of talent we've had these past three years and for that I am eternally grateful. I expect to see you both there no matter who comes smile

You and Rich better be there! GREAT meeting him and always good to see you David, miss ya buddy.

Hmm...I maybe keen to attend next year!
Is there a possibility you could get JOHN CARPENTER to attend as guest??

As many of you know I attended the 3rd FFM and after that many people have asked me if I am going to return to the fourth FFM but I doubt it. The reason is there are a few film music festivals here in Europe that I have yet to attend (for example Ghent is one I have not yet visited) so I think I will be attending at least one of the european film music festivals next year. However with that said if Peter decides to have a 5th FFM then I might return to that one (but sadly not the 4th one). Yes Peter I am actually thinking of coming back to your event in 2 years.

I look forward to it.

Only this time I hope, as an Los Angeles resident, I will be able to help Peter out in preparing for the event.

Your money TRULY helped the entire event Taylor, honest to God. Every single penny helps us as this is a non profit event. Saying that, I'd much rather have you come this time around!!

Wish I could go, but this sadly collides with the annual film music festival in Ghent, which is closer and cheaper for us Europeans. In fact, there's a lot of film music stuff happening in Europe in October (usually also Vienna, and Krakow is in September this time around).

Still, I do hope I'll be able to return to California and the FFM at a later time (should the tradition continue). There's still some stuff left in the state that I want to explore -- like Yosemite.

It hardly needs saying but as always I am quite interested, Peter. Thing of it is I stand a good chance of moving (and this WILL be the last time for a long time...gulp...pleez) right around then. But one never knows do one!

PS
Thor, funny you should mention Yosemite because I have had a hankering to drive around the country (did it back in '90) and again visit Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Devil's Tower, Yellowstone, Sequoia Nat'l Park...and more oh even more (sigh)
