BREAKING BAD---spoiler alert (see below).

THE HUNGER GAMES---Lionsgate announced the third book will be split into two movies with their premier dates: THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 (November, 21, 2014) and THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2 (November, 20, 2015).

PETER O'TOOLE---O'Toole (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE LION IN WINTER) announced he is retiring from acting, "It is time for me to chuck in the sponge. To retire from films and stage. The heart for it has gone out of me: it won't come back." O'Toole, 79, was nominated for eight Oscars and received an honorary Oscar in 2003.

TOTAL RECALL---Kate Beckinsale is co-starring in her husband's (director Len Wiseman) remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie as Lori, Douglas Qaid's wife. Beckinsale said, "At one point, when it looked like I wouldn't be able to play Lori, I was going to do a cameo as the three-breasted woman. And I started fretting about where they'd put the third one. Have I actually got room for a third one in the middle, or would it go to the side? Would it then be under an armpit and actually not sexy?"

COMMUNITY---creator Dan Harmon commented on being fired from his sitcom, “If 20 people call you a horse’s a**, you buy a saddle”, but he added that he is also, “a good person and a very able leader of men...Maybe I am just a jerk. To people who work above me I am a liability that isn’t worth the benefit..."

STALINGRAD---US/Russian World War II movie underway about the key German siege of Stalingrad starring August Diehl (INGLORIUS BASTERDS) and Thomas Kretschmann (RESIDENT EVIL).

TESLA: RULER OF THE WORLD---Christian Bale is in talks to play Nikola Tesla, and Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to play Thomas Edison in this movie about their competition to bring electricity to the public. Tesla promoted AC current, and Edison promoted DC current.

SCARY MOVIE 5---Lindsay Lohan is in talks to co-star in the sequel with Ashley Tisdale.

EVEL KNIEVEL---biomovie underway with Channing Tatum in negotiations to be the star/co-producer. The movie is based on the book LIFE OF EVEL and is from the producers of THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

HARKER---Eli Roth (HOSTEL: PART II) is in talks to direct this movie about Scotland Yard Inspector Jonathan Harker tracking down Dracula in England. Russell Crowe will star as Dracula and not Harker as reported earlier.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3---Etan Cohen (TROPIC THUNDER, MEN IN BLACK 3) is rewriting the sequel script.

OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN---Melissa Leo (HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS) will play the Secretary of Defense who cracks while being tortured by North Korean terrorists who have seized the President (Aaron Eckhart) and the White House. Rick Yune (DIE ANOTHER DAY) will play a sadistic North Korean terrorist who is disguised as a South Korean minister's aide.

KILLING LINCOLN---Billy Campbell (THE KILLING) stars in this National Geographic Channel docudrama based on the book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard about the conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.

THE OCTOMOM---Nadya Suleman is being sued by a West Palm beach strip club, T's Lounge, for $15,000 after she supposedly broke a deal in order to strip at another club.

THE X FACTOR---at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in North Carolina, Demi Lovato rejected two contestants who sang a rap song about smoking bath salts. Lovato has had drug problems and felt the wrappers were glorifying drug use. Britney Spears stormed off stage after a cross-dressing contestant flubbed a tribute to Spears while trying to sing her hit song "(You Drive Me) Crazy". One contestant is Ray Charles' grandson.

BAD WORDS---Jason Bateman is in talks to be the star/director of this movie about an unhappy man who uses a loophole to enter a national children's spelling bee.

STRETCH ARMSTRONG---Breck Eisner (THE CRAZIES) is in talks to direct the movie based on the Hasbro toy.

GOD OF WAR---movie underway at Sony Pictures based on the PlayStation 2 video game.

BREAKING BAD---a Comic-Con poster hints that Old Joe (Larry Hankin) is returning for Season 5, apparently to help Walt and Jesse find a new meth lab.

What a deep intellectual question this woman poses.

How in the heck is this even movie news? That is not directed at Dragon for clarity, just at what is published as newsworthy these days.

LEHAH:

For what it's worth, Beckinsale graduated from Oxford.

"Hey, Oxford makes mistakes, too!"

I work for a University that costs more than Yale.

Neither of these statements really add up to anything impressive.

Stop picking on Kate, she has a point, there's not really room there for an extra boob. I'm always surprised that Peter O'Toole is still with us, he's looked very old & frail for ages, & he was so good looking in the 60's. Getting old is a drag.

I read somewhere that they don't even go to Mars in the re-make. The first one is as daft as a brush, but enjoyable tosh (I last saw it a couple of days ago). I don't think I'll bother with this one, ditto Judge Dredd.

There was room in the first film... Which is why its such a damn odd statement to make.

Judging from the cast, this film will be a case of "what might have been...".

SCARY MOVIE 5---Lindsay Lohan is in talks to co-star in the sequel with Ashley Tisdale.

Lost me at Ashley Tisdale. She isn't entertaining or attractive so that's a big, fat zero for my scorecard.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3---Etan Cohen (TROPIC THUNDER, MEN IN BLACK 3) is rewriting the sequel script.

Again, why not have Ramis and Aykroyd write the damn thing? Better yet, if it's being this big a hassle, just let it go. We haven't died because of a lack of Ghostbusters 3 yet.

It wasn't damn odd, she was just being a bit lighthearted, some people are a wee bit too serious here. The boobs in the first film were no doubt the work of Rob Bottin, who did some great work on this & The Thing, but he hasn't had a credit for ten years, I wonder what he's up to these days?

The premise, coupled with this possibly being a perfect vehicle for Jason Bateman, made me chuckle.

BREAKING BAD---spoiler alert (see below).

STALINGRAD---US/Russian World War II movie underway about the key German siege of Stalingrad starring August Diehl (INGLORIUS BASTERDS) and Thomas Kretschmann (RESIDENT EVIL).

I still haven't seen a great film about this pivotal and horrific battle. Maybe this will be it?

HARKER---Eli Roth (HOSTEL: PART II) is in talks to direct this movie about Scotland Yard Inspector Jonathan Harker tracking down Dracula in England. Russell Crowe will star as Dracula and not Harker as reported earlier.

Hmmm, I don't think I've even seen a fat Dracula before...

Sounds like a plot from "24", the series.

KILLING LINCOLN---Billy Campbell (THE KILLING) stars in this National Geographic Channel docudrama based on the book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard about the conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.

I am not an O'Reilly fan but this is one excellent book.

STRETCH ARMSTRONG---Breck Eisner (THE CRAZIES) is in talks to direct the movie based on the Hasbro toy.

I really liked "The Crazies" but not the crazies who greenlit this picture. Unbelievable. Didn't Hasbro learn their lesson after "Battleship" sank at the box office?

Bottin retired in 2002 due to the declining number of job offers he was getting. He felt that traditional makeup effects had become obsolete.

And the idea of a Killing Lincoln movie may be the dumbest idea for an adaptation since 50 Shades of Grey. Because apparently it's a good idea to feed a troll by adapting a pseudo-biopic he wrote.

On Lovato: she had an eating disorder from what I read (due to Disney pressuring her to lose weight when she was with the company). The drug abuse stories were supposedly nothing more than vicious rumors (apparently spread by Disney themselves).

Not even the German "Stalingrad", whose score is also very good?

And I loved Enemy At The Gates, though that wasn`t really the 'story of Stalingrad', per se.

I liked STALINGRAD pretty good. Enemy at the Gates was a bit too polished for my taste though.

I know. All part of that award-winning Hasbro property deal, I think.

O'Toole actually looks OLDER than 79, IMO (more like 89), but maybe there's some health reasons for that. So I don't blame him for retiring.

I think he did a fair old bit of living (& a lot of drinking). He looked so good in What's New Pussycat, 1966, he had this, little boy lost act & a sort of camp way of moving. Women love all that stuff, he must have been fighting them off with a cricket bat (well some of them!).
