Very good news! THE NAKED JUNGLE is the main attraction for me. I'd cited this Amfitheatrof score as one of my wishes for FSM's final 6 albums: Daniele Amfitheatrof's THE NAKED JUNGLE (1954) George Duning's MY BLOOD RUNS COLD (1965) Leonard Rosenman's COUNTDOWN (1968) Gerald Fried's THE BABY (1972/'73) any 1970s Alex North, such as THE WORD (TV mini-series), PASSOVER PLOT, SHANKS, or WILLARD any 1970s Jerry Fielding Interestingly, Intrada is the one releasing this Pal @ Paramount set (the sort of set which I would've expected FSM to produce) Yeah.

Let me first say that this (WAR OF THE WORLDS, etc.) is a great release. I have wanted all four of these scores for decades. Every one of them has something special to offer. Let me now rain on the parade by saying that the percussion track in the Main Title of WAR OF THE WORLDS is out of sync. Although it eventually falls into sync by the end of the piece, it starts out very noticeably behind, at least in the sample on the Intrada site. A true shame after waiting so long for a legitimate release of this score, to have such a glaring error incorporated into the final mixing and mastering.

I don't know, Jim....watch the film and I think it just sounds out of synch originally due to the time signature. I don't believe it was a mixing issue. more the timing of the players at the time of recording.

I'm puzzled: the unmentionable appears to have additional cues from War of the Worlds... If those elements are gone from the Paramount vaults, Intrada would have had every right to take them from the unmentionable. What are these additional cues of which you speak? Chris

A true shame after waiting so long for a legitimate release of this score, to have such a glaring error incorporated into the final mixing and mastering. Blame me. The elements we worked with included a mixed "Main Title" for WAR OF THE WORLDS. That is to say, the percussion overlay was already mixed in. Within the bonus section, we have provided listeners with an orchestra-only version, which we did have, and the "Prologue and Main Title", as heard in the film itself. So, there are three versions of the "Main Title" on this disc. Thanks for your interest. Chris
