It has always amazed me with as much negative feeling there is about BOOTLEGS here (yes, I am bold enough to spell the word correctly), so many of you here have them!!! I do not buy them or support bootlegs. I might have one, but that depends on if you count the Perseverance release of SLIPSTREAM as one! I bought it under the assumption that it was a legitimate release and will not play it again until I am sure it is legitimate.

lol

You think people are PAYING money for bootlegs? They're just downloading mp3s dude.

According to a lot of posts here, yes.

Yeah, we used to buy them from the very people who are now issuing them officially! Sometimes they'll even retain the track titles!

That's right moral of you, Erik. As you certainly must know, we are not free to have this discussion here, so your comment is no more appropriate than those who have mentioned their unmentionables already.

I'd love to get this but Star Trek took the last of my play money for awhile. Hope they don't stop selling it before I get a chance to grab it. If only my kids didn't need to eat!

Oh, the Slipstream thing again. Can we just accept the fact that this was thought to be in public domain only to have a copyright claim at the last minute? If anything, Entertainment Film Distributors is the bad guy for not saying anything pre-release.

And if it's "that word", then that makes things like the theatrical release of Wayne's World "that word" (since they didn't negotiate the use of "Stairway To Heaven" in one scene).

I don't think anybody thought "Slipstream" was in the public domain. They may have misunderstood the rights situation. But others knew better all along. Besides, ignorance of the law excuses no man, as they say. I bring this up not to condemn Robin of Perserverance, who has paid for his error and has done fabulous work since, but just to set the record straight.

You are also incorrect about "Wayne's World." The producers (and I know two of them) simply paid only for theatrical rights to the song, and therefore had to replace it for home video, etc. The film was by no means considered a sure thing, and they were on a very tight budget. But everything was paid for properly.

Erik, there's a reason people don't spell the word correctly. We don't like FSM and that other word to come up together on search engines, you dig? And on that note, everybody clam up about b**ts, m'kay?

Big congrats to Intrada for releasing 2 DAYS. I hope it succeeds well enough that they'll pursue the release of other un-used/rejected scores like the previously mentioned SOMETHING WICKED. And the ones I'd love to hear, Goldsmith's THE PUBLIC EYE and whatever he actually did record for BABE....

My 2 DAYS from Intrada sounds beautiful BTW - though I've only had time to listen to the first 4 tracks.

A new Goldsmith release, first official release in any format and it inspires just 32 posts in 5 days.

Is it because of the b*o* or are we just getting too many releases of the great man's work?

>>>>>>A new Goldsmith release, first official release in any format and it inspires just 32 posts in 5 days>>>>>>>

I think it speaks volumes about the quality of this score, in relation to the many other, much better scores he composed throughout his illustrious career.
It's low tier Goldsmith, by anyone's ranking, I would guess.

Got mine today (also got around to Black Cauldron) and I'm digging the album arrangement of the tracks. Sounds incredible.

I'm really enjoying it. I can't believe anyone would say no to this music. I'm on my 3rd play now and it's just great!
