1/1/12 - 132 remaining

The instant this sells out, I'll get emails, "Do you have any more??? I missed it!"

We do NOW but not after it sells out!

Thought I'd give this thread an overdue bump as I've dug out this FSM disc and given it a spin, first time in a few years and now... well now I can't stop listening to it and like an earworm the love theme seems to be rattling around in my head all day long.

Magnificent score. Incredible stuff. When some of us here moan about modern film scoring well this is a great example of what we've lost. Those days aren't coming back, I know, but those of us lucky enough to own discs like this one (bravo, Lukas, and I still mourn FSM) can still marvel at the genius of Morricone etc.

Henri Verneuil " I want Morricone or no one!"
( words to that effect, probably in French).

It is a wonderful score.
Delicious Edda.

And a very decent movie.
Still consider it a spaghetti western of sorts with muskets wink - even though some now argue it's a period adventure. Don't care lol

Back in the day - 1970s n 80s - the LP was ultra rare and fetched 40 quid even then, when normal LP releases were 3 to 5 pounds. It's style was still considered part of his "western" ouevre.

A hugely under appreciated collaboration. To me, at least, they are up there with the greats.

Whenever I listen to this score I think, "This is my absolute favorite Morricone."

Of course there are probably other scores I think that about while listening to them as well, haha.

One of my most prized FSM albums.

A must-have for fans of Edda Dell'Orso, the way that voice soars in the love theme, & there's a few version of that on the FSM disc. I haven't listened to it for quite a while, I'm off to find the CD & rip it on to my iPod (well it not an iPod anymore, but the same sort of thing).
