There are no overrated scores just overrated opinions.

Jurassic Park. I think wrote a tuneful theme, but it's so damn heroic. Who/where are the heroes? The people running for their lives or the park residents who are chasing them?

Well there are two main themes. One I consider a paean to the majesty of the animals that seemed to have inhabited the earth longer than we have. The other seems a mock celebratory theme park music whose irony becomes more evident as the movie moves along. Do not hear any of this heroism you say is there.

I don't think it's meaningful saying any score is overrated. But if I had first heard the Jurassic Park themes in an Indiana Jones movie, they would have felt right at home. I never found the fanfare theme used ironically, but next time I see it I'll keep that idea in mind.

I too was put off by the Jurassic Park themes originally. I was a big fan of the book and expected the score to be more like, well, The Lost World score. It's what you bring to a movie as much as what you get out of it that influences your reaction.

The Dark Knight
Return of the Jedi
Horner Star Treks

Also
“My Heart Will Go On” is overrated. The rest of the Titanic score is very underrated.

Anything with the Raider's March in it. Eek!

That's why I prefer the sequel scores. Less of that annoying SW clone.

THE OMEGA MAN.

I expected more from composer Ron Grainer, who wrote a wonderful musical, “Robert and Elizabeth.” But none of it appealed.

However, everyone else around seems to love it.

Go figure.

Most of Danny Elfman's and Jerry Goldsmith's work.

I probably tend to agree with you.

Although, to say that around here about the Holy G. is like announcing I enjoy spitting on the cross daily.

And I’m not even a Christian either.

Nothing much to figure. It's a great score to a rather tacky (but entertaining) movie. Has a nice companion piece too in the theme for the Richard Crenna TV movie "Thief".

I think every score is correctly rated, so there are no over- or underrated scores.
