Listening to TABOO. liking it alot. The show was awful, worse than PINKY BLUNDERS. Was most of the music on the CD actually used in the show?

Shush! We're all still waiting in anticipation here, untill Kev has gotten around to THE LEFTOVERS. I'm afraid that after all our adulation, he's going to dislike it or even worse -- be indifferent to it. Bet on it.

If you dont like the Leftovers score you simply have no soul. I may have.no soul, but at least I watch BUFFY in the proper aspect ratio! I love Buffy in HD 16:9! <3 Yes, I know I have no respect for Whedon's intentions. And do I care? About Taboo, I agree! The show was really boring (took me about two years to finish the first season, lol), and the score was kinda boring too, imo. Think I saved 3 cues or something to my Richter playlist...

Nonsense. TABOO is one of the best TV shows in recent years, and that goes for the score too. Score good. Show bad. Thor half - right

So, using some of my disposable income, I had a little bargain hunt on Ebay these past few weeks and collected some CD's by this dude that were 'going for a song'. I did sample some tracks on Spotify first, to see if it was to my liking, but some of the 'dirt cheap' titles were a punt, based on comments here and elsewhere. Discs I bought include DISCONNECT, HOSTILES, THE LEFTOVERS, INFRA, PERFECT SENSE & NEVER LOOK AWAY. So, I've got plenty of Max Richter listening hours ahead of me. For the record, I also got NEVER LOOK AWAY, some of which is gloriously gorgeous too. Titles I'm currently watching out for include AD ASTRA* & MY BRILLIANT FRIEND. *I can't stop listening to his main theme to this one...absolutely gorgeous it is.

Enjoy The Leftovers! Make sure you also check out season 2 and 3 soundtracks! Season 2 is hard to find on CD and season 3 is digital only (but very short, more like an EP). Season 3 has one of my favorite cues ever "and know the place for the first time". "Dona Nobis Pacem 1" from season 1 is amazing too! If i put on The Leftovers, i tend to listen all the way through the seasons. It's great stuff. I've actually forgotten track titles and should go back and learn them. I have all three volumes, but it's a bit of an overkill for me. What is so beautiful in many of those religious tracks is kinda undermined by having so much of it; like eating too much sugar or whatever. So I mosty play just Volume 1. But one of these days, I'm going to make a playlist out of this material into one neat album. Kev, also try My Brilliant Friend, which is gorgeous all the way through! Listening now. Like it alot. Can anyone give me.info about the show. Thanks. For some reason, I could never get into this score. But I'm willing to give it another shot. The series has had lots of publicity, being based on world-famous literature, but I've not yet seen it (although I wrote a small description of it for Apple TV awhile back, go figure).

I get what you mean, some of the more eerie/dark stuff is not for my taste. I always make playlists when I have several albums for a show. Here's my The Leftovers playlist Season 1 - The Leftovers (Main Titles) - The Departure - De Profundis (it sounds boring at first, but such a grower!) - Dona Nobis Pacem 1 - Family Circles - Dona Nobis Pacem 2 - Illumintaions / Clouds - She Remembers - A Blessing - Only Questions - Departure (Reflection) - Departure (Lullaby) - Departure (Home) Season 2 - The Departure (Diary) - Storybook - The Departure (Phone Call) - Tom's Lullaby - The Departure (The Presistence) - Dona Nobis Pacem 3 - The Quality Of Mercy - The Leftovers (Main Titles - Small Ensemble Version) Season 3 - The Spectre Of A Rose - And Know The Place For The First Time - Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now - The End Of All Our Exploring Might be a bit overkill with the "Departure" theme but its just so damn good and I never get tired of it! lol! In addition I have added some "Bonus" cues that was used in various scenes which I also liked: Max Richter - Vladimir's Blues Max Richter - November Maxence Cyrin - Where Is My Mind Guiseppe Verdi - Nabucco: Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves (the theme from the awesome Assassin episode) Trinity College Choir - Deutsche Messe, D.872: Sanctus (used a lot in the priest scenes) Apocalyptica - Nothing Else Matters (Instrumental Version)
