This Petersen guy scored 14 MV episodes together with Jan Hammer, from november 1987 to april 1988. Does anyone know how he entered the project, and why? How does his MV music sound?
I have no idea, but I'd like to know. How does it compare to the Hammer/Truman stuff?
I have no idea, as I don't remember any of those epsodes, and I haven't got the DVD box. And it's probably hard to know, as it looks like he scored the episodes *together* with Hammer. Or maybe they worked from different studios?
you can listen to some of Peterson's work here. Its the oriental stuff that he did. Pretty damn awesome. There is so much unreleased music from vice, its mind boggling how most of it is never going to be released.
I sent Petersen an e-mail. He explained that Jan Hammer heard a demo tape of Petersen's stuff and brought him in on season 4. They collaborated at first, and then Petersen took over completely, until Hammer came back to do the last episode of that season, when the producers wanted it.
Tim Truman scored season 5 because he was a friend of Don Johnson.
Cool. So easy it is to get this kind of interesting trivia these days.
Sorry guys, but there will almost certainly be no more Miami Vice score releases; see this thread on the Miami Vice Community Forum: https://tinyurl.com/y6qyycmk
