Sorry for the delay. Playing my Michael Keaton role today...the other one, besides Batman (and NO not Clean and Sober!)

Now that little Ivy Quinn is asleep, here is what is coming up from La La Land on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 12 pm NOON PST:

LONE GUNMEN/HARSH REALM - music by Mark Snow (X-Files, Millennium, Smallville)
LLLCD 1135
Limited Edition of 2000 units
Retail Price: $19.98
Produced by MV Gerhard
Mastering by James Nelson
Liner Notes by Julie Kirgo

The first 100 or so will be autographed by the composer!

Making it's world debut on cd comes Mark Snow's quirky jazzy score to the short lived television series, THE LONE GUNMEN. The album features some of the best music from this spin off series, including an alternate version of the Main Title. ALSO featured on this collection is HARSH REALM, a sci fi thriller tv series set inside a computer simulation. This dark action packed series was created by CHRIS CARTER (X-FILES) and features some of Mark Snow's most haunting and complex music to date.

BEACH BLANKET BINGO - music by Les Baxter
LLLCD 1142
Limited Edition of 1200 units
Retail Price: $19.98
Produced by Ford A. Thaxton
Mastering by James Nelson
Liner Notes by Randall D Larson

Grab your board and surf on over to La La Land this coming Tuesday for this far out extra groovy release of Les Baxter classic score to the Frankie and Annette classic BEACH BLANKET BINGO. This limited edition release features all the surviving score elements along with "Backing Tracks" of the classic songs (For licensing reasons we could not include any of the vocals).

See you next week!

Thanks Mr. Mom!

You mentioned in another thread that The Lone Gunmen / Harsh Realm would have signed copies available; Is that no longer the case?

Also I know the catalog # for TLG/HR is LLLCD 1135... what about BBB?

Thanks!

Gotta get these two.

I love that the past couple of years we've been getting all of these Baxter recordings although BBB is not exactly representative of his better stuff, but what can you expect from scoring a mostly comical beach movie. I watch those Frankie and Annette moves every damn time they come on cable, I just can't help it!

Langley, Byers and Frohike would be pleased with the Lone Gunman CD as long as there's no insidious conspiracy behind its release. Hmmm, now that I think about it....

Now that X-Files, Lone Gunmen, and Harsh Realm have gotten releases (though I'm only familiar with X-Files), I would love to have some of Mark Snow's Ghost Whisperer music somewhere down the line.

I'm guessing that's Byers on the left, Frohike in the middle and Langley on the right.

Ivy Quinn is such a pretty name!

Harsh Realm had a truly intriguing score, and the main theme was in a league of its own.

I got home from work to see this. Yes! I will try to be in line for the Snow autograph. And I'll look for samples or clips of the Baxter to see if I'm interested.

I'll be picking up The Lone Gunmen. Ever since I finished with the series a few days ago, I've had the theme music stuck in my head. Great warm-up for X-Files!

So would I. (Considering how much songs are featured in the series due to its tendency to Final Scenes Of Grey's Anatomy Syndrome and its healthy life, it's surprising [and gratifying] that CBS never even okayed a song album... a score album would be welcome and the least Snow deserves for never quitting the show!)

Regarding the song backing tracks for BBB--will the backing track for "I'll Never Change Him" be included? That was the notorious Annette solo vocal that was filmed but deleted from the theatrical release, then restored to TV prints. I don't think the song was included in any home video versions, but I haven't seen all of the VHS versions. It doesn't appear in the widescreen DVD. If the backing track for it is included, that would make the CD a must purchase for me. The song was used in SKI PARTY (fI think it was), but Deborah Walley sang the lead (the backing track was the same).
