The best new score I've heard in ages - Jacob Groth's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - absolutely wonderful music, beautifully recorded, and which serves the film perfectly. I was shocked to see no soundtrack release credit, and I immediately contacted the company who made the film (in Sweden) to see if I could get it for Kritzerland - but I was informed they'd just made a deal with a UK-based company, so at least it will be coming out at some point. Wonder if it's Silva? Whoever it is, bravo for having the good taste to go after it and boo for beating me to the punch smile

I recommend this score and the film highly - it's really the best thriller of its kind since Silence of the Lambs, and one can only shudder to think what Mr. Fincher will do to it in the obligatory and completely unnecessary American version.

It is Silva Bruce yes, they're releasing more of Jacob Groth's music with Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy 26th July 2010.

You're right, he's very talented and look out for a feature with him and his music in a future issue of FSMO!

Milan elsewhere, I guess. I just bought it and should have it tomorrow.

Expensive through amazon, but not bad through third-party sellers - I've bought from importcds many times - fast service and they're only charging 17.98.

I love this composer already and was happy and surprised to find he's a sixty-two year old man who's been doing this for a long time.

I saw the movie in the theater, and now it is out in DVD, so most of you can rent it. Great movie with a solid score.

I'll join Joan and Bruce--a damn good film, probably the best I've seen this year. Excellent characters, hypnotic story and a perfect score. I'll buy it.

Right. One of the best scores of 2010 for sure. I recommend his "Der Adler" as well.

Hey Bruce

there is another score from a danish film you might want to consider

"The Substitute"

Composed by Marco Beltrami.

It has no CD release.

I would - for sure- order it.

AND

the new CD by Silva will cover music for part 2 and 3 while part 1 had a seperate release.

There might be chance to release the complete score there Bruce. Part 2 and 3 on 1 CD means that it will not be complete.
