My choices for today, in no particular order and subject to change ... 1. SCOTT OF THE ANTARCTIC - Ralph Vaughan Williams ( Chandos recording of complete score ) A score that takes on a journey of awe and wonder, desolation and danger. 2. STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE - Jerry Goldsmith See above. 3. THE LION IN WINTER - John Barry One of the all time great choral scores, just beautiful. 4. CONAN THE BARBARIAN - Basil Poledouris A no-brainer, this should be on everyones list. 5. E.T. - John Williams Sublime, and a very personal score to me. 6. LE TRAIN - Philippe Sarde Only 18 minutes but oh, what a magnificent 18 minute listen it is! 7. THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY - Ennio Morricone I need Morricone's creative brilliance and I could never exist without the greatest singular score track of all time, 'The Ecstasy of Gold'. 8. LIFEFORCE - Henry Mancini I love dark, mysterious and moody and this complex orchestral/choral work fits the bill. 9. THE BOURNE SUPREMACY - John Powell Powell's best IMO, a corking ride! 10. THE BIG COUNTRY - Jerome Moross I ain't going anywhere without this!
