from the liner notes of the new LLL release. "...this marks the first ever release of the ENTIRE [EMPHASIS MINE] score in stereo." Track 28 (alternate) " this track was chosen to conclude the score presentation as it is the only surviving stereo recording of the End title" LALALAND we have a problem. Not only do the liner notes contradict each other and the promotional materials for the album (http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=67954&forumID=1&archive=0), but they are further misleading - the Main Title is not in stereo either (it sounds as if some reverb might have been added to the low end to produce a 'phantom' left & right soundfield) Now, I am happy for this release but I think i can speak for all fans of this score when i say it is preciscely the two tracks mentioned above that fans so dearly wanted in stereo. If, there is no stereo tracks extant for the main & End title, why did you not say so, and explain why NOT? I look forward to Jeff Bond and Mike Mattesino replies bruce

Just my 2 cents: as the FSM release is OOP and as La-La Land re-releases this one, I'm most than happy as I am one of those who missed the FSM release. I'm sure this score got the best sounding presentation that the talented Mike Matessino could have done...

Dude. C'est le ton qui fait la musique. (Never thought I had to post that on a film music board nonetheless.) Didn't get it... Que vient faire le protocole dans cette discussion ?

I have not received the cd yet but if its true that they advertised this as full stereo when its really just some tracks in true stereo and others in fake stereo then its really kind of sad. Its sad because they could have advertised it as "partly stereo" or "mostly stereo" and i would have bought it anyways because first, its still an improvement towards the fsm edition and second, its still interesting for people like myself who don't own the fsm edition. But let's hear what MV has to say about it before turning this into a witch hunt.

I have not received the cd Here is a novel idea...... Wait until you've heard the CD for yourself and then offer an intelligent and INFORMED comment on it... Instead of posting something based on 2nd or 3nd hand information and heresay with the benefit of hearing it for yourself... That would seem to be a much better way to go. Just a thought.... Ford A. It looks like you did not read my post with the necessary attention and especially the last sentence. Or maybe i did not express myself properly, so in that case: sorry! Anyways, bottomline is that there seems to be something about this release that requires further attention and clarification from all sides.

Well, the matter certainly warrants discussion even if one has not heard the cd yet because i have heard from several people who i trust (not just those two in this topic) about this problem, so i felt like expressing my own concerns. But as soon as i receive the cd it is guaranteed that i will be able to identify fake stereo wherever it may be. I will listen very closely.
