You are so right, I had the whole weekend to do load it up, and completely forgot about it.

Apparently I am not a master of, um, cre.

And for you, Sean me-lad, my rabbit is still tapping his foot impatiently! smile

I am proud to say I listened to a couple of tracks some while back.

But it did not grab me enough to keep going, and I haven't returned.

But I'll give it another whirl this week.

David, I did it! I did it! Listened through to the whole album.

Reminds me a bit of Geoffrey Burgon's work for counter tenor and orchestra - Merciless Beauty, his album on ASV is great!

And very much in the same overall genre as Nyman's version of neoclassicism, incorporating early music approaches into modern music, but mostly not the same kind of minimalist effect. Often calming, sometimes sinister, occasionally a bit raucous.

Rewarding music, but more like an oratorio more than film music - much Classically trained vocal work for soprano and chorus.

Requires careful attention, even though the ideas are very clear and not too complicated.

Honestly enjoyed the the Overture and finale - fall (release) - the most. Essentially both are passacaglias.

I'll listen again, but not so much my taste any more.

You gave it a fair shot, Sean! All I can ask!

Yes, it is more like concert music than film music. I get the feeling he wrote the music before the film was shot.
