Those of you who purchased the DVD sets of Mannix, I have certain questions to ask you: 1. What is your favourite set among the two available? 2. Can you tell me your favourite episodes for each of the two sets? season 1: season 2: 3. What are your favourite cast and crew (writer, director, composer) from these two sets? 4. What is your general opinion about those sets? Your criticism is needed.

I only have season one and I'm going to go through the episodes again. I bought a bunch of OOP film scores and that set me back a few months, so I'll have to wait on season two. I'm assuming those are uncut, since I haven't heard any complaints. Overrall, I'd say S1 is a mixed bag, but Mike Connors makes it worth watching, as do some of the guest stars. The worst episode might be the one with Jan Sterling. This weekend I'm going to watch the eps that Fielding scored. I like the extras. The ABC syndication promo with Ernie Anderson is priceless! I do wish that there was more of Mike's appearance on The Mike Douglas Show. I'll get back to you, Lew. I bought both season sets and they all looked clean and uncut, Albie!

The CBS syndication bible reports that HD transfer work has been finished through S7, and that they are starting work on S8. This means CBS/Paramount is committed to putting the entire run of the series on DVD since S8, like S1, was never made available in syndication. Excellent news, Eric! I never watched season 8 and hardly knew season 7. They do the right thing...

I have Mannix season two on order and so I'm rewatching season one. In the episode intros, love how Mike Connors refers to the Mannix character as "I" and "me", proving beyond all doubt that... ..."Mike Connors IS Mannix!" Just watched "Make it Like it Never Happened" and in Fielding's score I could hear traces ofThe Enforcer and Chato's Land, when the horse rears up at Mannix in the final fight. Don't miss "End Game", Joe, because this is the single best season 2 episode!
