Note that ambient house is usually more uptempo than your usual Brian Eno-type ambient.

That's of course correct.

I'm surprised you didn't keep the first two Orbital albums though. I think Snivilisation and Middle Of Nowhere are so-so albums compared to them.

Didn't explain myself, i'm more underground in particular artists & dance genres that scene died in 1996, & "Hard-house" was the new-form of techno a crusty-one that had no heart.

Oakenfold's commercial in every-dance-set I've heard barring "Order Odonata 1994," I was at his set in Wembley JDJ 1994, it was shit been too other events feeling the same - funny thing is why did he play his tune he produced "Not Over Yet" so much in mix-sets, its an awful track-lyric.

Top artist-DJ's worth mentioning from the earlier scenes of techno-trance.

Gayle San
DJ Dag
Colin Dale
Mrs Woods
Joey Beltram
Surgeon
Miss Djax
Eric Powell
Billy Nasty
Dave Clark

DJ Dag from Dance 2 Trance is indeed a legend, as is Sven Vath whom you mentioned. His L'Esperanza is one of my eternal favorites. A pity he never seemed to make anything similar.

Yes, we're apparently on different planets in our evaluations here. I hear absolutely nothing of what you describe in his albums -- whether the three studio/solo albums or any of the Perfecto 'set' CDs -- my favourites being TRAVELLING, GLOBAL UNDERGROUND: OSLO, ANOTHER WORLD and GREAT WALL, as well as the SWORDFISH score.

According to imdb, he is scoring an upcoming film called THE NOCTURNAL.

Yes, I've noticed. Looking forward to it (I was not thrilled with NOBLE SON, though, but I might give it another go).

Maybe I was a bit quick in deleting those two Orbital albums. It was a couple of years ago, when I tried to clean up my iTunes and keep only what I really liked. I'll probably revisit them again down the road, to see if my taste has changed.
