Hi,

I've been looking for the love theme of the movie Mannequin for an ETERNITY! It's composer is called Sylvester Levay. Can anyone give me info on this person? Is there a compilation somewhere? Can the Mannequin love theme be bought? Be downloaded from somewhere? Any tidbit info would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks very much!

(p.s. - I looked him up a bit on the net and I'm quite surprised of how much work he's done on movies)

Friend.

Hi friend-

don't get me wrong, but haven't we come into contact before?- maybe in the life before...

anyway- regarding Levay- Ever heard of a film called Superman III? Probably not- you may wanna check it out- but Levay arranged all of the Moroder stuff for that soundtrack.

Regarding Mannequin- good luck on finding the score- that and the film are pleasures so guilty to make the film favorites of Gen Zod and Ajantic look legal-

good luck!

Hi Ahem!!!!

It's always a great pleasure to read ya!!! How are ya? I read you all the time on the Superman board. I'm almost 99% sure that Supergaz is gone so, I'll be back in the near future! Gandalf could never have chosen anyone better than you to be moderator - I read that Fabs has less luck though... Anyway - I always loved that theme, the movie is not very great - good kinda of but that's it.

Read ya soon friend,

Friend.

Levay is one of those 80's composers who occasionally rise to fame (HOT SHOTS, NAVY SEALS, AIRWOLF) but somehow slips into oblivion eventually (Cliff Eidelman, anyone?).

He is underrated.

Hi,

I've researched a little bit on him (his scores mainly) when I finally thought of looking of who made the Mannequin score. I thought I'd find a compilation somewhere. A lot of wonderful scores are never released at all. About 5 years ago I used to take piano lessons and my teacher explained something interesting to me. She said that we have a lot of wonderful music from the past (Strauss, Wagner and so on) but that a lot of music is also unknown and will never be known at all because it just doesn't exist anymore. So, today, in my little head, I think of soundtrack composers as modern day classic composers. Point being: we are losing treasures because we can't archive music properly just like 500 years ago! History repeats itself...
