There's a bunch of FSM threads on "Finding Kraftland" - does anyone have an update on when and if it might head to DVD? I've been eager to see it if it'll be available for home viewing. I notice the official website, http://www.findingkraftland.com/ , hasn't had its "News" updated for almost a year, and nothing recent on its Wikipedia page or IMDB entry.

Anyone here have any "inside" info or know Richard and can ask about an update?

It can't be put on DVD! Like Joe Dante's Movie Orgy the costs to get the rights to all the material used would be prohibitive in the extreme. Which is why I recommend seeing this great film whenever and whereever it plays, which has to be not-for-profit event or festival.

Thanks for the update! I didn't know that in this case the negotiations that allowed for film showings didn't include DVD rights negotiation as well - it's a given that much content will come to DVD, but maybe that would multiply the costs. I would've thought they'd negotiated for both.

I'd love to see it, but unfortunately the film has not played near me or within reasonable traveling distance, so a home video release may be the only way I'd be able to see it. Maybe it'll turn up at some point.
