There is a bonus track called Bizarre Bizaar on
the Alexander cd that available through Borders.
It is a interesting piece but it doesn't sound
like it was used in the film.It comes across
like a dance remix.I had already bought the cd
when i turned up this cd so i will be soon pulling my hair out!

Sigh...
this trend has been, is, and always will be an insult to the music-loving public.
I'm too angry, disgusted, and admittedly tired of this marketing bulls&@#t to rant right now...
Since we're treated like sheep, let's open up our butt-holes just a little wider and see what else these marketing whores can screw us with.
oohh, sounds like a plan...

^ They're frivolously scribbling notes right now, thanks.

Sony Classical must have a deal with Borders. The same thing happened with the Yo-Yo Ma/Ennio Morricone release.

I bought it at Amazon before I knew about the bonus track, then figured I'd give the disc as a Christmas present and hashed out the $20.04 for the disc at Borders. The bonus track is fun for any Vangelis fan, but not really worth it for anyone who's not so committed. I'd best describe the track as this: fans may recall the "Tales of the Future" track from Bladerunner. Imagine the freaky singer on that track suddenly happy and female, backed up by a percussive ensemble of a croaking voice and electronics. The best word I have for the thing is "bizarre." And I like it. . . but can't excuse the marketing ploys. The only way you can tell this track is on your CD is to look at the listing on the back cover art. The booklet is entirely the same for both editions, so if you get the bonus track CD you'll actually have an inaccurate track listing in your booklet.

Didn't Target do the same thing with one of the STAR WARS CD's? I remember getting it, and the extra cue was only a couple of minutes, as I recall. But at least that was John Williams.

Yes, Target did it with Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones - or rather, Sony Classical and/or Lucasfilm did it, and not just with Target. In the US, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Target all got special versions of the CD release, each with a different bonus - Best Buy's version came with a trading card tucked into the packaging (so, the CD was really the same), and Wal-Mart's had a CD-ROM section with a screensaver. Target's had the "bonus" track, which was otherwise featured as standard on copies outside the US (so, one might alternately consider all the non-Target US versions to be truncated, rather than considering the Target one to have a bonus).

I just got a brand new copy with the bonus track from SAE, great score! I couldn't find it anywhere else.

Yeah it is good. I'm glad I found the bonus track version from Borders, I'm a completist so it would have bothered me if I had the regular version.

It is worth getting just for "Across The Mountains" IMHO.
