One of the greats leaves us.

She did many, many things, including her 1980s villains, but for me personally, a wonderful Doctor Who companion.

Not jeanie! frown
Huge body of work. Great in Upstairs Downstairs.

And in quizzes she was the answer to who shot JR! (It was Jean Marsh in Eagle has landed). wink

R.I.P. She was great as a prim scold of a receptionist in Hitchcock's Frenzy, among many other roles.

I know her best from her appearances in The Twilight Zone, The Persuaders! (a cameo), and The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, and probably dozens more tv series.

The Doctor Who connection is extensive throughout her career. Starting with being married for five years to Jon Pertwee (great photo out there of them as newly weds, in fancy dress. Him wearing his Who outfit in 1955 a decade and half before he took the role).

Then guesting with William Hartnell in The Crusade as Richard I's (Julian Glover) sister.

Becoming companion Sarah Kingdom in the Hartnell twelve part epic The Daleks Masterplan. A well regarded death scene even now when it doesn't exist apart from photos.

Finally, the third in a line of witch queens (after Return to Oz and Willow) in Battlefield in the late 80s with Sylvester McCoy.

Great tv professional. Twilight Zone to Doctor Who via Space 1999, and a wealth of work as creator, writer and actor in between.

Her TZ episode is absolutely iconic. A terrific performance that stays with you.

During the 70s following the success of "Upstairs, Downstairs" she began making frequent appearances as a Carson Show guest.

A welcome face as the host of "The International Animation Festival" on TV.
