Since it was recently announced that the re-recording of this score is in the works, I looked online to try to find and buy the latest version of the original recording but the results are slightly confusing. According to discogs the last one is from Prometheus 2005, but when I go to youtube, there's this playlist that claims it's from BSX that originally released on 2012-04-24 and comes with three more cues then the Prometheus one. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nX-ySUh5SZ7iLPp2URTVyBspH-GYhOtoI Two additional versions of "The World That Only Lovers See" "The Marketplace" and a slightly extended version of the "Main Titles" Was this ever a CD release and does it have the same or different master quality of the Prometheus one?
"The Marketplace" and a few other cues were included (in Mono but good quality ) on the Varese Goldsmith@20th Century Fox box set.
FYI, the answer to the overall questions is no we’re not gonna do anything that would in any way shape or form interfere with INTRADA project which we wish them the very best. Don can’t wait to hear the end result.
Also, the only extra CUE that was not on the original soundtrack album from the chairman was that very short 51 second CUE called “the marketplace”. Everything else on the album did appear on the Fox set.
THE DIGITAL RELEASE ONLY CONTAINED THAT EXTRA TRACK AS WELL AS TWO RECORDINGS WHICH WE PRODUCED OF THE THEME FROM THE FILM AS WELL AS THE VOCAL.
We sincerely wish INTRADA the very best of luck on their endeavor.
Thank you everyone who's responded and explaining where the sources of the extra three tracks came from. I do want to clarify to Ford that I never intended to make this thread or start a campaign you to make you do a release of the Chairman NOW, only to ask if the digital release you did on 2012 ever had a cd one. Discogs and many other cd listing sites don't have a complete track of listing all the BSX/DD CD titles on their sites missing a good portion(maybe almost half) of them, so I made this thread to make sure. I'm sorry if I put pressure on you on the matter, that's not what I wanted to do
I just pulled out my copy of Twilight Time’s Blu-Ray and read on the back that it’s a music and effects track. I haven’t listened to it myself, but it’s likely not as enjoyable a listen as the existing soundtrack(s).
