Should be a double bill with RANSOM!! But still, very cool! I'm not huge on re-recordings but if lack of original tapes/sound quality necessitate it then by all means!
Since they clearly made way more off of A&C and are also selling the CD officially on the site, I would hope they don't get too greedy and be fair with how much money they want for the Kickstarter.
If the Intrada folks were greedy I guarantee you they'd be in a different business than the one they are in. New recordings of classic film scores are infamously unprofitable. Also don't forget that a good chunk of the apparent "overage" went towards the added stretch goal of Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Cops.
I'm sure they will price The Chairman where they need it to be. Why would they make an artificially high goal, and risk the project not happening at all if it isn't reached?

It really saddens me to see that, even after four decades of stellar customer service and outstanding outreach to our little community, the knee-jerk reaction is to expect the worst of them.

Nope! It just seems like these new recording campaigns are lucky to happen at all, and that logically speaking, setting an artificially high goal is not helpful to those running the campaign.
To me they are quite different and unrelated scores, and The Chairman in complete form is going to be substantially expanded over the old album so there wouldn't be room to fit a complete Ransom on the same disc.

I think if any additional music-only original elements survived, they would have been used for the Twilight Time Blu-ray isolated score track that Mike Matessino prepared years ago. Instead we got a music-and-effects track, and the "effects" even included a lot of Chinese speech which was included as part of that track.

Me too. Sad and a bit offended. What did we do that to get labeled as greedy? I'm looking at the budget and see we spent every dime on this project. Since he is seeing that we "clearly made way more" I'm curious what budget he's looking and how much he's seeing. And are we not allowed to sell the album to those that didn't know about the kickstarter or couldn't participate at the time not be allowed to purchase the album? I'm not aware of any kickstarters that made exclusive products just for the contributors. That makes no business sense. I wish people would assume best intent. We do this for the love of the music, not to buy expensive cars and early retirement.
I'm definitely in for this one. I've been ordering from Intrada since the 1980s and every experience I've had has been exemplary. I can still recall Doug talking my first Intrada order by phone back when the internet was still a dream.
Case in point: Intrada's THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA: there have been a surprising number of extremely fine re-recordings of Tiomkin's major scores over the years and without being critical of any of them this one might just be the best one yet.

Thank you and the Intrada team so much for making this happen. One of my favorite Goldsmith scores!
As for the negative comments on this board—there always has to be a killjoy who finds the downside in everything and feels the need to share it. Ignore them. They’re not welcome here.
Nobody gets rich off re-recording old film scores, but if anyone deserves to be rewarded, it’s the brilliant team at Intrada, who make our lives as soundtrack fans so much better.

From what I understand it's not you. Iirc from other kick starter threads some folks who only contributed to two or more of the following kick starters had bad experiences from the failed James Horner, the Jerry Goldsmith book with poor communication and to some extent the Christopher Young kick starter, that has given those users here a more pessimistic look at other creators like yourself and Leigh Phillips even though neither of you have had previous problems/drama or shown an ounce of dishonesty to your kick starter contributors. Your records for past kick starters speak for themselves, like you’re still releasing re-recordings of your own without backing. If that doesn’t convince them, then I doubt anything else will. Just keep doing what you’re doing and for what it’s worth, we’re all very proud of you and how far this company has gone.
