Never really got into watching the olympics, I'm afraid.

Spectacular opening ceremony, very and proudly "French" while also inviting to all nations. I liked it a lot, certainly the most spectacular opening ceremony of any sports event I've ever seen. I doubt this will be topped any time soon. Then again, it was four hours long, so they had to come up with something.

Unlike Prince Damian, I LOVE the Olympics -- both winter and summer -- but am frustrated that I'm unable to see much of it. I would love to see a sheet of the music used throughout the opening ceremony, and the name of the original compositions, both orchestral and electronic. Few of them were mentioned by the rubbish Norwegian commentators, who talked all over most of it. I only recognized some of the existing music, like Dukas' THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE (ahead of the LumiƩre section) and, I think, some Daft Punk. Maybe a few other bits and bobs. Like, who did the music for the metal horse galloping across the Seine? Couldn't hear it under the commentators. While most of the Olympics are shown on Max/Discovery+ (which I do not own), I've managed to gain access to Eurosport, which at least shows a few things. Today, I saw Djokovich totally annihilate an Australian whose name escapes me in the tennis tournament, saw Spain comfortably beat The Dominican Republic in the football tournament, and Evenopol continue his impressive streak (after his third place in the Tour de France) with a win in the cycling time trial. Although in the absence of Vingegaard and Pogacar (who for some reason didn't participate).

I think the most I watch,of any sport, is the bits on the news.
