I have to say, BSX are releasing some really cool and interesting CDs these past years. It's always a joy and surprise to discover them. That clip has a vague Bruce Broughton vibe to it. Splendid. If someone had played GUESS WHO on me with that clip, I'd have gone with BB. Long may it continue.

That classic “flourish” at the tail end of the BACKSTAIRS theme is classic Stevens!:-)
Episode 2 was actually going to be my August Morton Stevens suites. I had already ran it through the Lalal A.I. dialogue remover. Guess I can delete that now.
Another great TV miniseries grail taken care of for me this year by BSX! First "Goliath Awaits" and now "Backstairs At The White House".
Hoping someday that I'll see Leonard Rosenmann's score for "Vanished" (1971) emerge to complete the trifecta of wanted miniseries scores for me (not counting a full score for "Jesus of Nazareth").

Perhaps, now, there may also be hope for Mort’s WHEELS…:-)
Not a complaint, just curious: Is this release a selection of cues from each episode? Without directly naming anything, having gone through the first two episodes of the series, it just seems like there was more score.

Justin,
I will let Ford chime in if he is so inclined, but upon listening to this release, it features pretty much the entire score, with the music representing all four parts of the Miniseries.
I could not be any happier with this release - just stunning!:-)
The only music I didn't hear was a short bumper cue for the NBC promos that I remember being used in both of its airings which may not even have been composed for Stevens in the series though it sounded like it was.

Love Mort Stevens and the samples sound great! I'm really excited about this one since I never saw the TV series and have only heard good things said about the music. Another really unique title from BSX.
Any thoughts on the sound quality? From what I can hear, they did a nice job restoring most of the music. However, some damaged tracks are beyond repair. Those available in the samples sound decent. Are there any damaged tracks that are worse than these?
I've tried to help a little to promote the release, but editing the description box on my video for the suite for the first episode, to note this release and that it was DDR. Eventually I'll delete the now-pointless suite.

IMHO, the entire release sounds just wonderful.
James Nelson did a truly miraculous job on this score and on the damaged tracks.
I am just so happy to have this music and in complete form!
