An acting great passes, aged 95.

An acting legend in the UK on both stage and screen but probably best known in the US for the words 'diplomatic immunity!' in Lethal Weapon 2!

I just watched him in ROUGH CUT last week, but I remember him most from THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.

Stellar in everything i saw him in.
Particularly good in Tinker Tailor and Operation Daybreak. A real pro.

I remember him playing a memoir-writing double agent in a particularly amusing episode of "The Persuaders!", not to mention about 50 other TV show appearances.

Perfect as C. S. Lewis in the original Shadowlands telefilm. Closer to the mark than either Nigel Hawthorne (stage) or Anthony Hopkins (cinema).

I too was first introduced to him in the superior version of "Shadowlands". Not only was he closer to the actual C.S. Lewis, the TV production was a far more accurate telling of the C.S. Lewis-Joy Gresham story than either the stage or the film version.

Just been watching him in Villain, with Richard Burton, 1971, where he plays a criminal. Really excellent
