Just watched this again last month and noticed a few nice unreleased sections. Never dared to hope we would get them on disc! Bravo, Varese!

Whoa! Very happy to see this. I absolutely adore this score. It is a sound that I wish Burwell had gone back to again. Sparse, menacing, it is the music which is the psyche of M. Emmett Walsh's unrelenting antagonist of the story. The closest score I could think of is Mark Isham 's The Hitcher.

Wow. I know the complete score is only 35 minutes, but that's almost twice as much music as the original 7 track program! I never would have expected this, and as a big Burwell admirer I'm excited. I think this is not only the first time Varese has ever done a Burwell Deluxe Edition, but also the only other time besides Intrada's Psycho III that *any* label has expanded a Burwell score.

I wonder if Varese has Raising Arizona (Blood Simple's original album companion) DE in the works next...

Whoa indeed! I love this score, this was one that blew me away when I first saw the film, and I rushed into the city the next day to pick up the album. I have that vinyl still, and the cd version of it, and will gladly jump on this.

I hope so. Considering the wealth of good music in that one the short LP program was a little disappointing.

Yes they are back on this bullshit again. I don’t understand it at all, particularly with titles like these.

I remember seeing the film in 1983 or 84 but can't remember the music. The youtube video of the theme is pretty good. A John Carpenter vibe.

Raising Arizona is was produced and released by Fox so....that's Disney domain now. I also don't there's alot more music in Raising Arizona to begin with. I consider this one a monothematic score with the main theme which is great, repeating over and over again and it works in this film along with the darker stuff for Randall "Tex" Cobb's Smalls character. I think Robert Townson might have expanded this one a long time ago if there was more music to add for an standalone album.

Speaking of which, has anyone tried to use the code Varese sent from the CITY HALL fiasco for use at your next order at the site during checkout for those ordering these CD's because I'm getting an error message stating that the code is invalid for my order before check out. I even tried this one something else on the site just to be sure if only applied to pre-orders and it's the same thing with anything else on the site. I guess I'll have to complain about this to them too.

Owning the original CD for decades, this is a treat (no TRICK!)
PSYCHO III would not exist if not for BLOOD SIMPLE

I think a deluxe RAISING ARIZONA CD is a no brainer at this point.
One of the most exhilarating & unique scores I’ve ever heard.
It ingrained the name Carter Burwell into my fav composers list.
