THURSDAY, JUNE 1 JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL---trailer released for the FX miniseries. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6KEgWSFfaE THE THING 2---after a fan asked John Carpenter about THE THING's ending if Childs was The Thing, Carpenter replied, “I have been sworn to secrecy, okay, because there may be, I don’t know if there will be, there may be a THING 2." Blumhouse Productions was reportedly developing a movie based on FROZEN HELL, John W. Campbell's unpublished novel alternative to his WHO GOES THERE? novella which inspired THE THING. STAR WARS---Taiki Waititi commented on the status of his STAR WARS movie, “I’ve got a really good idea for it. It’s just as with all films, it’s this middle part. You’re like, ‘What’s going to happen?’ And then you look at all of those films that are so great, you’re like, ‘Well, I guess they can’t meet some smuggler with an alien sidekick.'" SPIDER-MAN---producer Amy Pascal commented on a new sequel starring Tom Holland, "Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writer’s strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters, and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get.” She commented on a live-action Mike Morales movie, “You’ll see all of it, it’s all happening." She also said about a SPIDER-WOMAN movie, “...sooner than you expect… I cannot tell you yet, but it’s coming”. THE CONSTANT GARDENER---The Ink Factory is developing a tv miniseries based on the John le Carre novel. The 2005 movie based on the novel starred Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz. MOANA---Thomas Kail will direct the Walt Disney live-action remake of its 2016 animated movie. AND JUST LIKE THAT---Kim Cattrall filmed a cameo for the SEX AND THE CITY sequel after earlier saying she would never return due to her feud with Sarah Jessica Parker. The cameo has Cattrall's character, Samantha Jones, now living in London, in a phone call with Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw. Cattrall filmed her cameo which did not have other cast members present and came after HBO head Casey Bloys asked her to return in a cameo. AL PACINO--the 83 year-old actor's 29 year-old girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, is eight months pregnant. Pacino has three other children. Alfallah is the executive producer of BILLY KNIGHT which stars Pacino. TRIVIA---Brenda Vaccaro starred in two movies in which she was the love interest of a pilot whose mission failed. In AIRPORT '77, Vaccaro played Eve Clayton whose boyfriend, Capt. Don Gallagher (Jack Lemmon), was the pilot of a hijacked 747 jetliner that crashed in the Bermuda Triangle. In CAPRICORN ONE, Vaccaro played Kay Brubaker, whose husband, Col. Charles Brubaker (James Brolin), was the commander of Capricorn One, man's first manned mission to Mars that was really a hoax. I was at the convention where this was heard and saw the Carpenter panel and the one later featuring much of the surviving cast of the movie. If there is one thing going to conventions has taught me it is that actors and filmmakers are very good natured, especially at these things, and fans ask the stupidest questions and unfortunately Carpenter and others have to give slight or obvious answers. During The Thing Q&A a fan asked Keith David, Richard Masur, and the others if they knew who was "the Thing" while making the movie. Keith David just chimed back, "Yes." Another fan tripped over himself trying to state how much of an impact Keith David's VO work was to him on Disney's Gargoyles and HBO's Spawn only to ask David what his inspiration for taking the roles was. David, in an apologetic tone, simply stated, "I'm a working actor. I needed a job and they had a paycheck for me." A couple nites before, I got to see a screening of They Live with Carpenter giving a Q&A before the show. I was lucky enough to get to ask him a question but me personally I can't settle for the easy stuff and got personal with one of my favorite filmmakers and composers, I asked him if he and Keith David were gonna go out for a beer this weekend while in town together. His response? "I sure do fuckin' hope so!" On Saturday my wife and I got a photo with the Master and I got to shake his hand, ask about his wife Sandy King and remind him about that beer. He called my wife "sweetie" and she'll be taking that to the grave as one of her favorite moments in life.

I had to look up pictures of Noor Alfallah. Man, it just looks to me embarrassing. She has to be using him for money.

Personal stakes don't matter. Let's look at cold hard reality for this kid: His mother used his father and didn't care, and he'll be dead before this kid even turns 18 years old or maybe before then when he or she could really use a father while growing up. And then, in my personal opinion, there's no way the kid is growing up in a loving, normal household. Oh well, just another day in Hollyweird. But I'm sure he's got more ways to lecture the rest of America while boning someone young enough to be his daughter's daughter.
