Sounds kinda like Greek folk music.

Sounds as if this is another one of those weird posts simply designed to bait someone to click on music links. Always the same: a new account, no previous posts related to film music, and links to strange music for whatever reason. Odd spam.

You like the music so much you recorded three sections of it from a movie, but you did not make a note of what movie you recorded the music from? You took all the trouble to record the music from the movie, upload the music and register here to ask what the music is, but you cannot provide additional information about the movie you recorded the music from? Where and when have you seen it, what was it about, who was in it, etc.

I think you got it in one in your first post, Nicolai. The first thing I do now with these sort of posts is look at their joining date.

Maybe other friends will comment

What film(s) are they from?

You could check imdb.com for the composer (if the music is the score) and check some of their work. Or check the movie's soundtrack entry on imdb.com to see if songs are listed.

And you could check soundtrackcollector.com (or discogs.com) for any soundtrack release.

And if all that fails to give any results then ask here with as much info as you can give.

I hear what you're saying but most spammers don't respond in the threads they start and the website this member uploaded music to is considered safe according to a fast search on the interwebs. If its a foreign film the name of the movie inst going to help as they illegally used copyrighted music to begin with.

He's right that most spammers don't engage after they post. It's a good point.

antoniomusic, this board has its share of spam posts, and yours accidentally fits that look pretty well, as described above. However it was delivered, some of the advice in the accusing responses is still worthwhile, broadly meaning to always give as much information as you have, in this case the name of the film, even though the music is tracked, and the fact that you know the music is tracked is a great clue too, for those who want to help.

I would add to never use link shorteners. Hiding where a link will take us is always suspicious (usually it's just a sneaky marketing ploy), so when that's added to your accidentally appearing on the board in the same way some of our actual spammers have, a lot of potentially helpful responses will just be lost. Always let people know where you're sending them.

Less is not more nearly so often as people say it is.

But they do tend to post the same links multiple times, while engaging very little with the actual replies. https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=151333&forumID=1&ar

Hi Antonio, all

The selections are from the original music written by George Kotsonis from the BBC tv series THE APHRODITE INHERITANCE shown in 1979:

https://www.discogs.com/master/474349-George-Kotsonis-The-Original-Music-From-The-BBC-TV-Series-The-Aphrodite-Inheritance-Including-Other-

https://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/36105/Aphrodite+Inheritance%2C+The

The 1st track is the 'Love Theme from "The Aphrodite Inheritance"', the 2nd is "The Eyes of Love" and the last excerpt is "Aphrodite's Theme". This last track was used over the main titles. The music on the 2nd side of the BBC LP was apparently especially written for the album and does not appear in the series. Kotsonis himself does not appear to have written much else according to Discogs. But the music is quite haunting and memorable.

I watched the series when it was released and it made quite an impression on me, in particular the scenery (it was filmed on Cyprus), the beautiful Alexandra Bastedo (Aphrodite) and the music. In fact it led to quite an interest in Greek music, on the film music side not just Theodorakis and Hadjidakis, but also the likes of Stavros Xarhakos and Yannis Markopoulos & later Kostas Kapnisis, Giannis Spanos and Mimis Plessas to name a few. Greek film music outside Theodorakis and Hadjidakis is generally little explored but there are some worthwhile gems!

APHRODITE was the 3rd series by author Michael J Bird to be set in the Mediterranean area after THE LOTUS EATERS (main theme by Xarhakos, which was very popular at the time, taken from an earlier film score. The other music used in the series was lifted mainly from other Xarhakos albums) and the most successful of Bird’s BBC tv series WHO PAYS THE FERRYMAN (music by Markopoulos, also a BBC LP with selections on the 1st side being composed for the series, the music on the 2nd side was especially written for the album). You can still find the FERRYMAN BBC album in charity shops all over the UK! The final instalment of Bird’s Med series was THE DARK SIDE OF THE SUN, for which Xarhakos wrote the full score and again a BBC LP is available.

Cheers Dave

I see that the original post and poster are removed, so as suspected it was spam all along.

Not sure I get this kind of spam though. It seems too irrelevant and not suited to boost playing of certain songs (that would be the classic "Spotify spam", which tries to get certain songs in the streaming charts), nor does it try to sell anything. And for trolling, it is pretty lame. So I haven't quite figured out what the purpose of it is.

I don't get it either unless the links redirected you to another site that can install a virus. The actual links themselves were fine and I have protection against redirects. So I dunno.

Yes, the links themselves were "harmless" in that there was no attempt to install viruses or trojans, just music playback.

Well, Antonio asked a question and David A. had the answer.
I suppose Antonio took the Ankle Express, having gotten the info that he needed and just covered his tracks having achieved his aim.
On the one hand, I love seeing musical mysteries get solved--it's one of the great things about this place.
On the other hand, the ghosting is a little odd.

Only the board admin can delete posts, so either Antonio requested that they be deleted or there's more to the story behind the scenes.

Antonio's effusive gushing and repeated use of the phrase "I love you" toward David was pretty odd, though.

Yes, that's true.
But if anyone here ever saw me, for example, receive some extra unexpected cash, my own outpouring of love would truly frighten them.
When that happens, I love everyone and everything!

Update on my previous post.
In today's mail I received a School Tax Rebate.
My heart is literally bursting with love for all of you.
If Antonio felt just one 10th of that for the solved music mystery, I totally get it.

You guy's remember Mucrim?
Started asking for help on scores recorded off turkish tv i think. Got a bit of help, suddenly he was asking on new clips twice a day.
Even our most helpful and woke posters lost patience and gave up! Lol.

Yes, that was weird too. Same "type" of spam really.
