I received the new Quartet CD the other day and I think it's great, I love it!
So I made a new tracklist in film order comparing the CD with the uncut (full) version of the movie:
1. Main title (Sandstorm) 2. Feather weight heart 3. Nocturne 0:00-0:29 4. " " " " 0:30-3:00 5. Cavalcade 6. Waiting 0:00-0:41 7. " " " " 0:42-1:06 8. " " " " 1:07-1:36 (last seconds not used) 9. Follow me ("film version") 10. Thougtless greenery 11. Cavalcade #2 (1st part 0:00-0:33) 12. Ambush 13. Take that 14. Before the attack 0:43-0:57 15. Fear in the night 0:00-0:10 16. " " " " " " 0:11-0:30 17. " " " " " " 0:30-2:15 18. " " " " " 2:15-2:34 directly segues into Trouble in store 19. Guitar cantina (1st minute only) 20. Western story 0:00-0:35 21. Guitar cantina (continues with the last part; circa 1:52 to 3:00) 22. Not on CD (short suspense piece with high pitched vibrato organ chords) 23. Western story 0:38-1:32 24. Heartbeat (1st minute only) 25. Follow me ("album version", longer and slightly faster in tempo ) 26. Bandidos 0:00-0:18 27. Misty tree 28. Bandidos 0:27-1:11 29. The price of a gun 30. Bandidos 1:12-1:56 31. Trouble in store (repeated) 32. Nostalgic moment 33. Don't look now 34. Moody mountain 35. Not sure about this one but it appears to contain a few short segments from the "bonus suite", which is only available on the former Saimel compilation CD, edited together with the track "Single handed". Also, there's the addition of an unreleased cue similar to"Ambush" at the end. 36. Before the attack 0:00-0:20 37. Pistols galore 38. Before the attack 0:58-2:12 39. Far from now 40. Gringo 0:00-0:22 41. Cloudy prairy 42. Trouble in store (repeated for 2nd time) 43. Gringo 0:23-2:03 44. The moon and you 45. Gringo 2:04-2:30 46. Twilight (finale).
That's it folks
As you can see some of the tracks are split up into shorter segments and a couple of tracks are repeated. I'm happy to report that we pretty much get the complete score on the new CD. Thank you Quartet records!
Thank you so much for doing this work Mikael! I will definitely use your chronological program when I get my copy (on order from Intrada along with the other recent Lavagnino western+Zorro release).
This was the last release I received with liner notes by Gergely Hubai, before his recent passing. I will read them with a heavy heart today, and remember him.
(Sorry to be a downer, but I’m just shocked by his death as we’ve been in regular contact over the past half a decade or so… and I just don’t know what to do or say.)

Yavar
Indeed shoking news Yavar I just read in the other thread dedicated to his untimely passing as well. Two of the last CDs I purchased (REQUIEM PER UN GRINGO and VEDO NUDO / DOVE VAI TUTTA NUDA) have liner notes written by him, as well as so many other albums before. His expertise, his dedication and his enthusiasm towards film music will be sorely missed. RIP Gergely.
