Ray and DJS, those restored Sol Kaplan score excepts are fantastic (and wow does Over the Edge sound good!) Thank you!
I would buy premiere releases of either score in an instant. Did you have music-only sources to work from, or are these just taken from the film? They sound very clean.
By sheer brilliant coincidence, my Goldsmith Odyssey colleague David (aka "Lorien" here) and I conducted an in-depth interview with director Jonathan Kaplan (Sol Kaplan's son) last month, and in addition to discussing his collaborations with many film composers including Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner, we also spoke at length with him about growing up as the son of a great film composer himself. He mentioned Salt of the Earth by name as (I'm pretty sure) Sol's first film score after being blacklisted in Hollywood, which Jonathan still remembers from early childhood as a seismic event on his family. Would you mind if we played some of your above MP3 suite on the podcast, Ray? We'd be happy to thank you and credit you on our show notes. And likewise DJS, could we edit your Over the Edge clip(s) into our interview show as well, because Jonathan spoke about his sole collaboration with his father on that? (Got any more of them to share, by the way?)

Use away. I own nothing. lol! I just recorded the entire isolated score from the Arrow BD and did a little mastering/editing. There's plenty of score. I'm surprised it hasn't been released.
Wow, there’s an isolated score track for that Kaplan score? Surprising and cool! Does it have effects too or is it music only the whole time?

No, unfortunately effects as well but they are rather non-intrusive for the most part. As I have been waiting for this score for 40+ years I am happy enough with what I have edited. Combined with the classic songs from the film without the dialog it makes for a pretty good OST. I'll upload a few more and post it here.
Wow! I haven't seen this film or heard any of this before. Thank you!!
My pleasure! See the film! It's an early 80's classic! Also Matt Dillon's first film. Score's a nice blend of orchestra with some mostly subtle synthesizers. Definitely an ARP 2600 Sol is using as you can hear some Logan's Run in Claude's Acid Trip. I think Kaplan really nailed the emotion of troubled 70s/80s kids with this score. Here are 3 more themes:
