The rank braids are all wrong. Even if it is original, I have a replica that looks MORE authentic. lol

The rank braids are all wrong. Even if it is original, I have a replica that looks MORE authentic. lol My first thought was it looks to pristine to be an original. They even go as far to say its a first season worn top. Agreed and the collar doesn't seem right either. Too rounded. No point at the dip. Shouldn't it be a little less gold? A little more avocado? It was as gold as it looks on TV because of the lighting and film. The rank braid being missing is mentioned at least but it does look really new. The insignia is worn, but 55 years worn? I dunno.

Only a tech billionaire would pay $90,000 for that shirt, original or not. The auction must be hoping to attract one or two of them.

Yes, it was described as "avocado" by the man who dyed the uniforms for the show. And further more, dyes faded, and I think there was more than one shirt (I seem to vaguely recall reading that once). For those who want to delve way way WAY more into the yellow vs. green debate and resolution, see here: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/kirks-tunic-color.79291/

I was going to give a nerd award to the people debating the shirt details. Then Justin posted the link to the color debate, and he snatched it away!
