LLLCD 1608
Music by Danny Elfman

Limited Edition of 5000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $39.98

ORDERS BEGIN TUESDAY NOVEMBER 29, 2022 AT 12 PM PST

La-La Land Records, Columbia Pictures and Sony Music proudly celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the beloved 2002 motion picture SPIDER-MAN with a remastered and expanded 3-CD deluxe presentation of renowned composer Danny Elfman’s (BATMAN, BATMAN RETURNS, DARKMAN, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE) original score. This landmark super-hero adventure starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe, and directed by Sam Raimi, swung the titular webslinger onto the big screen in wildly successful fashion, launching a blockbuster film franchise and creating another wonderful artistic collaboration between director Raimi and composer Elfman, who had previously teamed up for DARKMAN and A SIMPLE PLAN.

Teeming with thematic motifs that expertly swing from kinetic and soaring action to heartfelt drama and romance, Elfman’s SPIDER-MAN score is an orchestral knockout and a notable work in the composer’s acclaimed canon. Finally, this 3-CD presentation showcases the score in all its glory, remastered and expanded with a bounty of previously unreleased material!

DISC 1 features the original 2002 score soundtrack assembly plus two bonus tracks, while DISCS 2 and 3 unleash the expanded film Score Presentation along with Additional Music bonus cues. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and Dan Goldwasser, and mastered by Doug Schwartz from studio vault elements, this special release is limited to 5000 units and features a 32-Page booklet with exclusive in-depth liner notes by writer Jeff Bond and heroic art direction by Dan Goldwasser.

I only lurk, but Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero score for twenty years, and the movie overall means a lot to me, so I'm actually posting just so I can say thank you La-La Land, this is an instant purchase for me.

A personal Grail, and a fantastic looking release!

Wouldn't it be easier just to have:

CD1 - original album
CD2 - complete film score
CD3 - bonus tracks
?

This constant splitting of the score between two CDs when it doesn't need to be is quite annoying.

I played with several different layouts for this collection. This was the one I was most comfortable with.

Hey, cool... I do not have any previous release of this score, so I'm all game. I'll bundle this with AMISTAD.

Interesting. I agree it would probably be better to have "complete" compositions on one disc (provided they fit, obviously, scores with lengths exceeding 78 minutes or so have to be broken down). That way, people who still play CDs don't have to get up and insert another CD which could interrupt the flow.
On the other hand, for those who rip their CDs right away, that's obviously of no concern. I am happy about this release either way and look forward to it.

Just yesterday I received a sealed copy of the original album! After years of searching I finally found it, and at a bargain price too. I felt on top of the world, but listening to it I immediately thought: this score really needs an expanded edition. And now this! And also Tomorrow Never Dies! Thanks to everyone involved in the project for this beautiful early Christmas present.

Might have to pick this one up!

But Im confused...the Orginal Score album, has Main Titles and Farewell (Album Version) as bonus tracks.
Are the other tracks the film versions and then the album versions is again present in the Score Presentation. Are they all the same tracks?

All I know is that the song album included Main Titles and Farewell. So I kinda assumed those were the two bonus tracks. Never compared how different they were though. Hopefully the liner notes will explain it

According to someone on the JWFan.com forum...

The "Album Version" cues they're referring to (for Main Title and Farewell) come from the companion Spider-Man "Music From and Inspired by" song album, which had alternate (longer) versions of these two score cues on it.

Yeah, that part confused me too. Are there no "Film Versions" of either track? Is it a typo on the announcement?

Why not make your own version since this is your own personal preference?

I'm personally more annoyed about the petty complaints about releases you'd never have in the first place if it weren't for these companies than I am about the layout of what's on what disc.

Fom what I'm remembering the "album versions" are actually what's in the film. For the main title, the score album crossfaded into another cue and cuts off the end little bit that's in the movie/on the soundtrack version.

No, if they'd included THIS, it would be annoying.

I just recently borrowed the original version from my library (revisiting it with the release of “No Way Home”) and I kept thinking “WHY DID I NEVER BUY THIS WHEN IT WAS AVAILABLE!?!” So this release is right up my alley!!

I'd prefer a SPIDERMAN 3 CD (Young), but this is a good score from Elfman with memorable themes.

It is strange how much I love his comic book/hero scores (Batman, Darkman, Dick Tracy, Spiderman and Hulk) but do not like much his modern Marvel/DC scores.

A complete Spider-Man. To La La and the folks that labored to put this out, may I simply say, “Excelsior!”.
