NOBODY DOES IT BETTER THAN LA-LA LAND RECORDS...

RELEASE #2

TOMORROW NEVER DIES: EXPANDED/REMASTERED 25TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION
LLLCD 1607
Music by David Arnold

Limited Edition of 5000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $29.98

ORDERS BEGIN TUESDAY NOVEMBER 29, 2022 AT 12 PM PST

La-La Land Records, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Geffen Records proudly present the remastered and expanded 2-CD re-issue of the original motion picture score to the 1997 feature film TOMORROW NEVER DIES, starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond 007, Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Pryce, and directed by Roger Spottiswoode. Renowned composer David Arnold (STARGATE, DIE ANOTHER DAY, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH) unleashes a triumphant score -- his acclaimed debut in the James Bond canon. It’s a breathtaking and sophisticated epic work that propels Bond through an exciting globe-spanning adventure teaming with action, dramatic intrigue and romance. Arnold brings a contemporary edge to Bond, expertly melding orchestra with electronics in robust fashion, but he simultaneously preserves and honors the series’ classic musical legacy, often bringing it thrillingly front and center.

Remastered and expanded with a treasure trove of previously unreleased music, this deluxe 2-CD set showcases Arnold’s legendary score as well as the movie’s opening and closing songs, “Tomorrow Never Dies” performed by Sheryl Crow and “Surrender” performed by k.d. lang, along with additional bonus music featuring alternate score cues and the previously unreleased source cues “It Had To Be You” performed by Simon Greenaway and “Adrift” and “Shaken But Not Stirred” performed by Simon Greenway and Sacha Collisson. Also here, a never-before-released alternate opening for “Surrender”! Produced by David Arnold and Neil S. Bulk, and mastered by Doug Schwartz, from original stereo digital tapes provided by MGM, this special release is limited to 5000 units and features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Tim Greiving, which include new comments from the composer. The sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser.

Before anyone jumps in and says we left out "Cunning Linguist" please be aware that the composer, Beethoven, never composed a work with that title. In the film a licensed recording of his "Piano Concerto No. 5, 2nd Movement" was tracked in. The cue was not recorded for the film.

I hope you all enjoy the album.

Of course we will enjoy it, Neil!
With all music in perfect quality, full length (without cuts as with Isolated score from DVD/Blu-ray).
What can be better? smile

Oh, and just curious - I'm bit confused, which is "film version", and which is "album version" for "doubled" tracks (in main presentation and in additional music)?
I understand that Company Car from additional music is album track, as well as Paris And Bond & Backseat Driver (disc 2, track 19). But what's about White Knight (Original Version)**† or Backseat Pilot (Original Version)*†?

Thanks in advance!

Like a lot of us, I was really hoping this batch would include a Bond score, just to prove that such a thing was still possible, which is really encouraging.

This will have a place of honor on my shelf next to DAD and TWINE.

Early versions of the cues. They're discussed in the booklet. "White Knight" has a different, longer opening. I really don't want to say too much about them as I want people to experience them without knowing too much.

Thanks! Can't wait to listen all of them.
Oh, and sorry for such question - I simply always "assemble" my own perfect presentation (film tracks/film mix first, all the rest - at the end - for example, I swapped album & film version of Welcome to Baku in TWINE wink ). That's why I asked, if they are film versions, or something else. Now, when you say that they are "earlier versions", I understand it.

AMAZING!!! No worries about the classical source music cue. As a HUGE Bond fan it doesn't bother me at all. And it's really incredible the clearly large amount of effort that went into this release to provide not just a ton of new stuff but alternates as well. Bravo!!!

Dear MV,

First of all - THANK YOU.

One thing puzzles me. You didn't mention that LLL have this edition ready, that you're working on it.... You mentioned three other Bond titles - Moonraker, Licence To Kill & OHMSS - whose releases were delayed by the postponement of the NTTD film's release.

Why didn't you mention TND then ? smile

Alternate opening of White Knight… maybe Arnold tested the more traditional gunbarrel in the early version.
