Come on people,it was an amazing scenario for a World Cup Final, what do you think was a better Final in the last three decades? I can't think of any, and there were certainly a lot of stinkers (1994, 2002...)
Yep, it was a great, great Match, terrific final game. Absolutely top. Of course, I enjoy strategic, defensive soccer just as much as offense playing, and games that change on a dime. This game had all I love about the World Cup, 100% happy with the game. Why, yes, sure, penalty shootout is brutal, but I can't complain about the winner and France has a terrific and worthy 2nd place. I think it was by far the best final game I have seen in this century and one of the best ever. I have to go as far back as 1986 to think of a more (or same) gripping end game.
