Yeah, I felt bad stating my personal opinion on vinyl, in that RAMBO LP thread and I also confused Neil, when my mention of the 'muddy sounding' first CD re-issue of RAMBO 3 may have looked like a diss on their mix/master of the superior sounding Intrada editions for their new LPs. You're spot on Sean, I have no hate for vinyl lovers or the new fad that has engulfed us, but more in the fact it has replaced regular CD releases of new and old scores. I don't get why they can't press a limited run of CD's for the likes of ANT MAN 2 and BLACK PANTHER and many others/such like (or let our niche labels do it, if they can't be bothered). Like vinyl, CD's won't just 'go away' and I fully anticipate some kind of CD revival in the future, as everything old becomes new again, at some point. Creeping back to this thread, nervous about what lies ahead, but a Cheers to you Kev! I love the resurgence, having fun with it, but feel if were throwing darts at vinyl for usurping things, you must lob some venom to digital too! Viva physical - downloads are too easily forgotten, lost to time, blah blah. No format is perfect (my cds have been skipping more than vinyl lately!), the music counts.

Best check certain Intrada items if you have them, like Barry's Howard The Duck & Bernstein's Black Cauldron....only the rare OOP titles seem to have picked up skips, for me. Yeah, that's called Sods Law, the most powerful law in the universe. You're never going to get a CD that you can buy anywhere for a pittance go wrong. I managed to crack a CD the other day, trying to slide it into one of those CD storage wallets one handed (I think I was holding a cup of coffee in the other hand). I was pushing it down with my fingers & heard a crack. I do wonder about my older CDs, as I mostly listen via iPod. I did buy a new DAP (digital audio player, what they used to call an MP3 player) a few months ago, as my iPod is playing up (it is nearly 20 years old), & I ripped hundreds of old CDs into it, & they're all fine (including a lot of CDs I've burnt using a Sony CD recorder, some 20 years old)...but give it enough time & everything goes wrong, & that's very much including us.

Don't forget to back up your music! External hard drive, USB thumb drive, the cloud. Whatever your preference. But don't keep only one copy, especially on a device like an audio player that can be lost or stolen.
