Rip nurse ratched.
Despite playing that cold dragon in cuckoos nest, she was stunning lady with striking features.
And an exceptional actress.

I just re-watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest a few weeks ago, still a great movie.

RIP. I remember her from 1984's FIRESTARTER with the rifle on the front porch.

That second photo that you posted, Bill, is from the episode "The Open Window" from the series "One Step Beyond". I watched it for the first time fairly recently. Made in 1959, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Anyway, I was immediately struck by the beauty of Louise Fletcher in that early role. I didn't even realise it was her until it suddenly clicked halfway through the episode.

Anyway, all of the above may seem crass and superficial under the circumstances. She certainly was a formidable actress, a great talent indeed. R.I.P.

I first saw her as Doc Barker's girlfriend (and eventually wife) on "The Untouchables" first season episode "Ma Barker And Her Boys". R.I.P. Louise Fletcher.

Those eyes!
Stunning.
And "formidable actress" is damn straight.

RIP.
