A former contributor to this board, William J. Finn, passed away last Saturday at age 75. Some older posters on here might remember Bill's occasional messages, though it has been a while since he was able to be involved. Sadly, the loss of his dear wife, Ann, hit him hard and this was compounded by a neuorological affliction which was debilitating. I corresponded with Bill back in the day, mostly through e-mails and the occasional transatlantic call. His knowledge of film music was extensive, especially of the "silver age" guys like Goldsmith, Bernstein, North, and he himself was a talented piano player. Raising a glass to you now, old friend. Another good man gone... James MacMillan.

Very sorry to hear of his passing. I do recall some of his piano film music posts. He did seem very knowledgeable and friendly.

I was in touch with Bill via e-mail several times, before I moved to St. Petersburg. We even met a few times, after I learned his home in Sarasota wasn’t far from mine. A knowledgeable, thoughtful man, he will be missed. My condolences to his sons, Kevin and Nathan.
