ROGUE SQUADRON---the Patty Jenkins STAR WARS spinoff movie which was scheduled to premiere on December 22, 2023 has been removed from the Walt Disney release schedule.

BLADE RUNNER 2099---the Amazon Prime miniseries sequel to the Harrison Ford movies is underway with Ridley Scott as executive producer.

HALLOWEEN---the HALLOWEEN trilogy of HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN IF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS will return to 417 theaters on October 14.

JAMES BOND---director Sam Mendes (SKYFALL) said he wants to see a woman director on a future James Bond movie, “I think that the actor playing Bond is going to evolve, the director has to evolve. I think it would be wonderful to see a woman directing Bond. I think it would be wonderful.”

THE WALKING DEAD---Norman Reedus commented on the spinoff series set in Europe, "We knew we wanted to make a show that went in the opposite direction, just because we didn't want to do the same thing. So that's what we're doing. And it's going to be way different. The story's way different. The characters are way different. There's a different tone, there's different light, there's a different sound. It's a whole different vibe... I've been going on location scouts here and stuff, but it's even more than just location. It's all the things we love about those characters and those shows, but It's going to be brand new, which I'm excited about."

TRIVIA---in NORTH BY NORTHWEST's Mount Rushmore cafeteria scene, a boy seated at a cafeteria table knew from previous rehearsals that Eva Marie Saint will get a pistol out of her purse and shoot Cary Grant with a loud bang. So when the scene started filming, he put his hands over his ears BEFORE she actually fired the pistol at Grant. The error was never noticed by editors and was left in the final version.

If that happens then I would love Kathryn Bigelow to get that assignment. If she`s in the "Point Break mode" then she`s perfect. I personally would hate if James Bond became a female Bond or a African-American Bond but the idea of a female director or even an African-American director is fine by me. If an African-American would get the assignment I personally would not mind if Kevin Hooks get the assignment.

James Bond must evolve. It's knowledge has reached the limits of this universe and it must evolve. What it requires of it's god, doctor, is the answer to it's question, "is there nothing more"?

I know, I hate that! Its like the air pump tank on the back of the chariot in Gladiator or the telephone post under the truck in Raider of the Lost Ark.

I really wish they would leave Blade Runner as the iconic achievement that it is, alone.

I see what you did there. wink

I am sure Sam Mendes is A-OK with a woman directing a Bond movie, now that he is done directing a Bond movie. He would never have said: "Thanks for the offer to direct, but I will decline the job so you can give it to a woman."

We really need to bring the meritocracy back. It's better for society, productivity and true fairness.

Objection. That remark has nothing to do with the Blade Runner series. I move that it be stricken.

I have only seen Wonder Woman. Based upon that, I must incline towards thinking this *is* a bad thing. I'd like to have seen what she had in mind. But without the film, it will be tough to evaluate it. smile

Loved Wonder Woman but WW82 was the embarrassment of the century. But bottom line, Disney is incapable of making a good Star Wars film.

I'm not the biggest BR fan but it is something you had to experience in the theater when it opened in 82. You can't duplicate that mood or feeling a second time. Best decision Spielberg every made was not to make a sequel to Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Here's something else you'll ever un-see now:

In "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", on Earth when at a futuristic train station, as the camera is panning right, on the left for a few seconds you can see one of the producers dressed in a suite who apparently thought he was out of the camera shot.
