Right now I have 3-4 music books and one true crime book waiting for me, plus a couple of music magazines I subscribe to which appear 6 times a year. On the internet (like this) or various non-fiction books, magazines and whatnot. However, it's been a long time since I read a proper fiction book; or since I had any particular desire to read it. Don't know why -- probably because I have too many other "pastimes" to deal with. For me it was Tom's Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce. I plucked it randomly from the school library shelf aged seven or eight. I'd already read a fair few books by that age but this was on a new level.
