What are the details on where this was recorded and with what orchestra? It sounds incredibly flat as a recording, which probably amplifies whatever dullness it could have. I had high hopes after loving Hart scores like Pete's Dragon, The Green Knight, and Interview with the Vampire.

Not feeling this. I really liked Powell's PAN. This is mostly forgettable.

I thought Pan was ok. But Bejamin Wallfisch's J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan is my favorite, excluding Hook.

Have you heard Maurizio Malagnini's Peter & Wendy...that's my fave, FWIW.

Just realized where I know the composer from. I really love Pete's Dragon. I still play it often. Though that didn't have to be as grandiose as something like this. Don't know if he has the chops for it. I will give it a listen now.

I know this isn't necessarily a popular opinion, but my favorite soundtracks from the universe of Peter Pan are Joel McNeely's wonderful TINKERBELL scores. Thank goodness for those Intrada releases. Just sad that they didn't sell well.

I think that goes without saying!

Okay, I listened to the score on Spotify. My reaction is the same as others, overall "nice" but lacking a narrative. I just don't feel a flow from one track to another and I think many end oddly if not abruptly. I can't say there's any bad cues, and maybe the score will grow on me. I'm sure I wouldn't have liked Pete's Dragon soundtrack without seeing the film.
