Back to School. He had so many jokes firing in every scene. But I always thought the actor who played his son was a huge miscast. My favorite joke: “Hey leave my wife alone, she gives great headache”

My favorite joke: "I gave my English teacher a love letter and she graded it."
Caddyshack hands down, which was his film debut. Apparently he was initially insecure about his performance because he was used to stand-up where you get immediate responses to your jokes. On a set though, everyone had to keep a straight face, so he thought he was bombing when everyone else thought he was killing it.
Back to School is great as well. "Call me when you have no class." I also love the Kurt Vonnegut bit.
Henry, my friend, you ask the impossible. Trying to choose a favorite from CADDYSHACK, BACK TO SCHOOL or EASY MONEY would be like trying to choose which kid lives and which 2 get stuffed into a burlap sack and tossed into the river.
(Actually, the correct answer is that all 3 kids take the plunge! Gotta go for the hat-trick! )

Apparently his film debut was actually The Projectionist (1970). Before that, he had an uncredited role in The Killing (1956). I had to look it up because I couldn't believe that Caddyshack was his debut, seeing as how good he was in that film. What a fantastic actor he was.

Interesting. I had gotten that anecdote from the documentary on the Caddyshack DVD. Either I am misremembering or the person telling the story got it wrong.
