OBI-WAN KENOBI---co-writer Stuart Beattie commented on his participation in the miniseries which was originally going to be a theatrical movie trilogy that was cancelled due to the failure of SOLO: A STAR WAR STORY, “Joby [Harold, miniseries showrunner] came on and took my scripts and turned it from two hours into six. So, I did not work with them at all, I just got credit for the episodes because it was all my stuff.”
“When I pitched my Obi-Wan story to Lucasfilm, I said, ‘There are actually three stories here. Because there are three different evolutions that the character has to make in order to go from Obi-Wan to Ben’.
The first one was the first movie, which was the show, which was, ‘Surrender to the will of the Force. Transport your will, surrender your will. Leave the kid alone.’
So then, the second [movie] was thinking about where Kenobi ends up. And one of the most powerful and probably the most powerful moment in all of Obi-Wan’s story is that moment where he sacrifices himself in A NEW HOPE Great moment, you know, makes you cry.
But, if you stop and think about it, it’s a pretty sudden thing, to just kind of go be fighting a guy, to see Luke and go, ‘I’m gonna die.’ You know, that to me, that required forethought. That required pre-acceptance that this was going to happen.”
Beattie commented on the second movie in which Obi-Wan realizes his own mortality and Qui-Gon telling him he must sacrifice himself for the common good, “He’s recognizing he’s been on this journey already, and he’s waiting for this moment, and that’s how he’s able to make it so easily. To do this [sacrifice], and die. So that to me was the second evolution, the second film, the second story. So for me, if I have anything to do with the second season of OBI-WAN, that’s the character evolution that I would take him on. That, to me, is really interesting. And like I said, universal.”

WHO'S THE BOSS?---Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano will return for the Amazon Freevee sequel to the tv series that ran from 1984 to 1992. The sequel has Samantha, a single mother, living with her father and their differing parenting styles.

THE ELECTRIC STATE---Millie Bobby Brown will star in the Russo brothers/Netflix movie based on the graphic novel with Chris Pratt in talks to co-star.

FALLOUT---Kyle MacLachlan and Walton Goggins will star in the Amazon Prime tv series based on the video game.

WOODY ALLEN---Woody Allen hinted he may retire soon, “I’ll probably make at least one more movie. A lot of the thrill is gone. When I used to do a film it’d go into a movie house all across the country. Now you do a movie and you get a couple of weeks in a movie house. Maybe six weeks or four weeks and then it goes right to streaming or pay-per-view…It’s not the same…It’s not as enjoyable to me.
I don’t get the same fun as putting on a movie and putting it in a theater. It was a nice feeling to know that 500 people were seeing it once… I don’t know how I feel about making movies. I’m going to make another one and I’ll see how it feels.”
Amazon cancelled its four-movie, $68 million deal with Allen, and his popularity in Hollywood has declined due to sex allegations involving his daughter, Dylan Farrow.

THE GANGSTER, THE COP, THE DEVIL---Don Lee will return in the Paramount Pictures remake of the South Korean movie in which a South Korean gangster and a police detective team up to catch the serial killer who tried to kill the gangster.

SCARLET WITCH---Elizabeth Olsen commented on rumors she will star in a Marvel Studios solo movie, "No one tells me anything, and I'm not even hiding a secret because I'm bad at that."

TRIVIA---Tom Hanks and his sons appeared in two of his World War II tv projects. In BAND OF BROTHERS, Hanks had a cameo as a British soldier and his son, Colin, played Lt. Henry Jones. In GREYHOUND, Hanks played Capt. Ernest Krause and his son, Chet, played sonar operator Bushnell.

Hanks had a cameo as a British soldier

Didn't Tom Hanks also have an uncredited role as a French soldier
executing a German officer as the Allied trucks drove past a farm?

MADMOVYMAN:

Somebody asked me the same question about Hanks as the French soldier back in 2018 on another forum.
Most sources say Hanks's only cameo is the British soldier, including screenrant.com:

"Tom Hanks' cameo is midway through "Crossroads," after Easy Company has been tasked with rescuing 130 Red Devils (a British Army parachute regiment) who have been trapped by German forces. Hanks doesn't have any lines, but he can be seen among the crowd of Red Devils in the scene where the brigadier general is giving a toast to Easy Company's heroics."

On the plus side for him, if he moves overseas, he'll be welcomed with opened arms and have Desplat ready to score his films.

Just curious about this.
Was there any update in this case?
Did not check if WA was already officialy condemned by trial.

Well, trial by TV with that hatchet job doc about him.

He was investigated.
No charges were brought.
End of story.

Even though I am a fan of his work, what he did with Soon Yi was pretty damn unsavory.
But it broke no law.

Let's make a deal.
Send Allen up to Canada--we'll send down Jordan Peterson.
(Peterson embarrasses Canadians on a constant basis.)

Some people put a lot of faith into courts and then they likely talk of unfair justice in cases they might not agree with. The evidence has been widely available for over 3 decades of Allen's abuse but he is Hollywood royalty. How often has other Hollywood royalty got away with murder because of unfair and corrupt judicial systems? Allen has had to pay millions in court fees to the Farrows; the situations surrounding court testimonies and medical findings are blatantly doctored and all over the place; and Allen himself has been criticized by judges involved with this case as being abusive and asked that Dylan Farrow be protected from Woody Allen. 'Nuff said for me to feel confident moving away from this endlessly talented yet creepy and disgusting scum.

That may be so, but don't be naive (and I mean that in a general sense, not you personally)--there was PLENTY wrong with Mia.
And you may not like or appreciate the judicial system, but it's the only one there is.

The court of public opinion that many now prefer is really for the weak-minded and easily-influenced.
That's why it's so overused now--it's the fast and easy path to petty vindictiveness.
