I was so surprised by Michael Giacchino's score for Lightyear. Knocked out in fact and catapulted into the stratosphere.
After his awful score for War for the Planet of the Apes I had just about given up on him. But the lyricism in Lightyear was outstanding. Also, some tongue in cheek. Like the ode to some old time 1950s horror scores. Dum dum DAAAAH.
Spacecamp expanded. What a Massive Delight. An Excellent score by John Williams.
Fiddler Up a Roof, as Fred Sanford said in Ep. 2 Happy Birthday, Pop. Season One!
But..Fiddler on a Roof is truly a Spectacular Presentation. Amazing work by John Williams, Isaac Stern, and excellent restoration work by Mike Matessino. Along with The Eiger Sanction, and Fiddler on a Roof could be Mike Matessino Best Work.
New, actually 2022 stuff: -Blake Neely's The Time Traveler's Wife
Pre 2022 scores: -James Horner's Star Trek 3 (It didn't arrived yet... I didn't even shipped from MSB but I'm sure it's great) -LLL's Star Trek Final Frontier Collection. I can't have enough of music from Berman TV Trek.
My unexpected delight so far this year is that the Four Flies label offers some of their vinyl LP releases on ... guess what? ... compact discs.
Delight of 2022 is actually the 1975 La Novizia, a nunsploitation sex comedy with a 19-year-old Gloria Guida as the novice nun stripping down to bra & garters. By the way, the music is by Berto Pisano.
Liner notes by Pisano's son, Alessandro, inform us that his father played bass fiddle and toured the U.S. in 1960 with Armando Trovajoli at a jazz festival.

Same here, LOVE the LIGHTYEAR-Score. After five minutes into the movie, the LIGHTYEAR-theme become an instant favorite for me. Even went to see the movie twice to enjoy the score once more in context of the film.
My unexpected delight in terms of new releases is definately Intrada's WILLOW. Can't express how grateful I am to finally have the opportunity to listen to this glorious score in it's interity.
Also quite enjoyed Chrono Cross the Radical Dreamers Edition short arranged album, and the two additional GENSHIN IMPACT albums: Islands of the Lost and Forgotten, and Milleliths's Watch.

Whlie watching the first episode I was wondering who did the classy and refined score. The ending credits then listed Anne Dudley and it all made sense as she is a veteran with massive talent. The second episode was my favorite with especially beautiful string writing.
I really hope the score gets an official release but nothing has been announced yet.
