2 DAYS/1963---David Mamet will direct and rewrite the original movie script by Nicholas Celozzi which tells the story of how Celozzi's great uncle, mobster Sam Giancanna, ordered the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Celozzi claims the mob helped Kennedy win the presidency but arranged his assassination after Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy began a federal war against organized crime. The movie is set 48 hours before the assassination, and will show “the mob’s version of the assassination”.

THE POPE'S EXORCIST---Russell Crowe will star in this movie about Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican's chief exorcist, who performed over 100,000 exorcisms. Amorth wrote two books about his exorcism duties: AN EXORCIST TELLS HIS STORY and AN EXORCIST: MORE STORIES.

THE WITCHER---photo released from the Season 3 film set shows a fight between Geralt and Vilgefortz.

OBI-WAN KENOBI---analytics firm Samba TV said the OBI-WAN KENOBI finale was seen in 1.8 million households in five days which is 20% more than the finale of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT.

BATMAN---Christian Bale said he has not heard of him returning as Batman, but he would return if Christopher Nolan asked him, "No. No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up. Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that.'”
He added, “I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.’ In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”

MADAME WEB---Emma Roberts has joined the cast of the Sony pictures SPIDER-MAN spinoff movie in an undisclosed role.

THE OLD MAN---FX renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---Sam Neill said he turned a role in THE LORD OF THE RINGS because he was already involved with JURASSIC PARK III, "Interesting, isn’t it? There’s always conflicts. I was asked to do something good in THE LORD OF THE RINGS, but that conflicted with JURASSIC PARK III. People’s careers can often be extremely random. I always just think one’s lucky to have a career at all. But there’s not a lot you can do to shape your own career, really. It’s something that happens very haphazardly."
Earlier, Neill said, “He [Peter Jackson] did offer me a role in LORD OF THE RINGS, but unfortunately I was unable to do it because I had other commitments. I’m very fond of Peter and I’m very keen to work with him. When he makes LORD OF THE RINGS 7, I’m up for it.”
When asked which THE LORD OF THE RINGS role he turned down, Neill replied, "No, I couldn’t say that, because that would make the person who played it feel like I was a pr*ck."

I met Sam Neill at London Film and Comic Con just a few years before these pandemic times started. I have a great story to tell you about him. When I was at the photoshootline I perhaps had maybe 10 person in front of me so I got to witness something cool. Just before they where about to start the photoshoot the crew got some technical difficulties. While the crew was fixing the problem Mr. Neill could have done pretty much anything. Anything from checking his phone or just talking to the crew. But no, he did not do that. He did however walk up to the first 3-4 people in the line and started chatting with them. For me to see this happening was such a joy. The man earned lots of respect from me because of this.

Great story, he sounds like a top guy who is still down to Earth.

Re: Sam Neill- Lost a huge gig because of J3? Ouch, that gotta hurt. Wonder what role it could’ve been?! Maybe the crazy king who burns to death?

Maybe he got paid more for JP3 than he would have got for LOTR.
He seems like a cool guy and he comes across as likeable in interviews.

My money is on Elrond. Neill even looks like Hugo Weaving and their acting styles are almost identical.

It's been a few years since I saw the original of The Most Dangerous Game (1932 with Joel McCrea & Fay Wray), it was remade in 1956 as Run For The Sun with Richard Widmark & Trevor Howard (I've never seen it). I think that picture of Russell Crowe is a few years old, his face (& body) has filled out a bit since then.
