What exactly is this? Sounds like a Godzilla series without Godzilla. I mean they barely showed the big guy in his own movies, are we to believe they're gonna have the budget for a Godzilla streaming series? And if you're not going to have Godzilla in it, well that's really stretching your franchise to the limit.
Me too. Hideous design. No sense of body proportions and I still hate the dog/bear head on this lump of clay. The design doesn't lend itself to animation either. It moves in a very stiff and awkward way.
Lordy, how I still hate that Godzilla design. Maybe it's me.

As a kid I hated the head sculpt for the Aurora Godzilla model kit. It didn't look anything like the 54 Zilla head. I now release the head was (appropriately I guess) modeled after the 60's version of Godzilla.
Being the eternal nerd I recently picked up the "Aurora Glow Godzilla" re-release kit.

I think you're correct. The Aurora model came out in late 1963 or early 1964 IIRC. I know I got mine in 1964, before I ever saw the film (Godzilla, King of the Monsters).
I believe that Aurora's Godzilla was inspired by King Kong vs Godzilla, which was from 1963. I actually liked that look - not as much as the original Gojira, but I liked it. I also liked Aurora's take on what happened to Godzilla - that its footsteps were so heavy, they caused an earthquake and Godzilla fell into a pit that opened up.
