TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Character actor Bryan Marshall appeared in two movies in which he played a British military officer who dies while leading his men to escape from a prison.

FOR ALL MANKIND---trailer released for Season 3.

THE GRAY MAN---the Russo brothers are developing a prequel and a sequel to the Netflix CIA assassin movie starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.

PREY is how you do trailers. Short, and makes you want to see whatever its got... without giving away 80% of the plot points.

The Old Man looks like Jeff Bridges doing his Bourne thing. I'll watch it. smile

The Boys - looks like I need to see this show.

For All Mankind could be intriguing, if they really are brave enough to tackle complicated issues. The tech and the spectacle are a draw for sure... more of Damon's sci-fi'ing. I wonder if they can finally get rid of the damn guy this time? smile

The Gray Man. Also something it sounds like I ought to see.

Dragon, a request: any chance you might be able to scare up what John McTiernan is doing these days? If he's out, given his master direction, I can't imagine him *not* returning to film. I hope, anyway.

WARLOK:

Not much on McTiernan except this from Wikipedia,

"His most recent feature film project (As of July 2021) was the 2003 thriller Basic with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Reviews for Basic were mostly negative. Roger Ebert gave it one star out of four, saying it was "not a film that could be understood" and that "If I were to see it again and again, I might be able to extract an underlying logic from it, but the problem is, when a movie's not worth seeing twice, it had better get the job done the first time through." Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide gave it two stars out of four and said the film "keeps adding layers of confusion so that it becomes less interesting as it goes along! The final 'twist' seems to negate the entire story, like a bad shaggy-dog joke."

His career was derailed in 2006 because of legal problems which saw McTiernan spend time in prison. As a result of his conviction, The Hollywood Reporter called McTiernan one of Hollywood's most "despised" people. His short film, The Red Dot, was released by Ubisoft to advertise the 2017 video game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. It was the first of several action-oriented shorts to support the video game. The Red Dot was his first film project in 14 years."

Thanks. I didn't know he did that for Ubisoft. I would think (hope) that means he's still in the neighbourhood.

Was McTiernan 'Most Despised' in Hollywood because he got caught?
Hollywood only seem to hate on people 'after the fact', when they've been rumbled.
Such a pillar of morals and virtues!!

As I posted before, according to Hollywood, 84% of the world's population are assassins.

McTiernan was onboard to write and direct Tau Ceti Four, a sci-fi action film starring Uma Thurman and Travis Fimmel. Was supposedly being shopped at Cannes in 2019 but has since completely vanished off the radar. Damn shame about his career - he had an amazing run of films under his belt (we’ll ignore the Rollerball remake…)

Agreed re. Rollerball.

At least there is talk of McTiernan and major film projects out there.

Really love the slew of films we got from McTiernan. But its been to long, times have changed. You can't go back.
