Over the last couple of days, John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, The Jungle Book) has been recording his score for the upcoming animated feature Luck. The film is directed by Peggy Holmes (Secret of the Wings, The Pirate Fairy) and features the voice talent of Jane Fonda and Whoopi Goldberg. The movie centers around the unluckiest girl in the world who – after stumbling upon the never-before-seen world of good and bad luck – must join together with magical creatures to uncover a force more powerful than even luck itself. Kiel Murray (Cars, Cars 3) wrote the screenplay. John Lasseter (Toy Story, A Bug’s Life), David Ellison & Dana Goldberg (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Top Gun: Maverick) and David Eisenmann are producing the Skydance Animation production. Luck is expected to premiere early next year on Apple TV+.

Good god, actual orchestral writing *head explodes*
Check out (if you haven't) what he and others have been doing on three seasons of "The Orville". The first two seasons have scores releases from La La Land Records.
I have listened to this several times, and I feel compelled to jump back into this thread just to say I think this is one of Debney's best efforts in the rich vein of children's/animation/family scoring where he really excels. He is really in his own league. Sadly, nobody seems to pay much attention to releases like this one. I suspect that CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG wasn't a big seller for Intrada, and we probably won't see LUCK on cd.

Well no because for one Milan Records owns the rights to the soundtrack and they haven't released much in the way of physical CDs in the last several years.

I guess I should just be happy that it got released at all, unlike the amazing work Debney and others did on THE ORVILLE NEW HORIZONS. I would surely settle for a digital release of that!

I agree. This is a great children's score from Debney. I've listened to "Samantha's Theme" quite a bit.
