Hi, I'm just wondering if you guys know of any movies that don't get shown on TV and are hard to get on DVD. I have my own channel on YouTube and I'm trying to make rare films available to all through it. Many thanks.
Just counting TV movies and movies, there's a shit-ton.
Quick ones: 1978 mini series "Wheels", the feature-length failed pilot "The Cabot Connection", "Miami Shakedown", the Canadian television edit (with a different score not by Jeff Danna) to the 2003 "A Wrinkle in Time".

I have uploaded About Mrs. Leslie and Raintree County, though I believe the latter is blocked in some countries for copywright reasons.
Thanks Mark!
What amazes me is that Raintree County had a beautiful, restored, widescreen release on videotape (in the mid-80s?). Why no DVD/Blu-ray release? Just what are those "copyright" reasons?

Hi gsteven. From what I have read it isn't a problem with copyright that is preventing the release of the film but with the quality of the film stock and the cost of restoration.
YouTube block the showing of the film in certain countries as some Video owners have chosen to make their content available only to certain countries/regions (usually due to licensing rights) YouTube may block specific content to comply with local laws.
Watched the first 30 minutes of Raintree County. The wiki description makes it sound like it gets really dark and depressing. Really can't tell that from what Ive viewed thus far. Oh, and Eva Marie Saint, Va Va Voom.

Obviously unless you are the copyright owner you cannot simply upload films onto YouTube. Very few films are actually out of copyright and Raintree County certainly isn't one of them. I take a dim view of this sort of thing and I hope someone reports you.
I for one am thankful people upload movies and soundtracks on YT. If its a problem YT will either take away the monetization and give it to the copyright owner or take the video down.
